This is a new version released this year. There was a previous Taketsuru with a black label, but the blending process for the new version was changed, with more Yoichi in it.

It's sweet and delicate. The price point here is $85 NC. It's not better than Miyagikyo and I don't like Yoichi but it contains them both. At $60 I would buy it again otherwise no. At that price point $85, I would get Miyagikyo, Nikka Coffey Grain or Hibiki.

I bought a bottle of this last month here in New Zealand. My first Japanese Whisky and I enjoyed it. My bottle looks nicer though because it has the black label with gold lettering. I do like it but, since then I found Lagavulin 16 (a week ago) and now all my Whisk(e)y tastes like "cat piss" in comparison, even my Johnnie Walker Blue Label has been downgraded - hahaha

I have Lag 16 to. Never tried JW Blue. Ever tried JW green? I like that one.
