Great questions. It came through the importance of blending in Japanese whiskies.

Great video. I am a huge Japanese whisky fan for nearly two decades. I hope to make a distillery tour or two some day.

Good insights into Nikka. I would presume any questions from the interviewer are pre-approved as courtesy to the host. Demand for Japenese whisky just keeps growing and the developments in the industry continue to evolve. As Ben mentioned, not such good news for the consumer.

I like how he talked about the coffey grain, but what about the coffey malt? I find those two very different, and also different in terms of what you've had before. The flavors always change, but will never be the same as each other in terms of the two whiskys.

4 years late but the coffey malt would have to be one of the most interesting and one of my favourite whiskeys, really cool and a bit of an outlier to me.

@@michaelwright2079 definitely agree! And I don’t mind you replying 4 years later. I’m just impressed you even found the comment lmao

Longer the fermentation the taste of the whisky differs from the rest , that's their advantage , some scotch are like that too.

The guide is creepy, he turn the smile on and off very fast. Great video Ben, i really like Miyagikyo it was one if the first whiskys who got me to like whisky, it was Miyagikyo 15 years and 12 years.

I love the 10 year old. Age does not always mean better. I'm with you though and prefer Miyagikyo to Yoichi.

Yeah japanese are very shy in general, that might explain his behavior. Although I didn't notice anything odd

I've been here. The scenery and distillery were amazing, but the whiskey was really disappointing, especially compared to the great whiskeys that come out of the Yoichi distillery.
