After many years of trailering boats, driving trucks etc always have a spare tire ready and try to never use a scissor style jack (the little cheap one that comes with cars). @@razmtaz1987Google hydraulic floor jacks, they aren't that big. I believe a 2 ton lift is only like 18" inches in length. You can also put a spare tire on the back of the van. No excuses for space, you should make the space for stuff like this especially traveling.
@2fathomsdeeper2 ай бұрын
The scissors are OK but slow. The jack I have fits into a pocket at the proper lift point so it can't slip easily. Jack only as high as needed to remove the tire. Break the torque or do final torque with the wheel on the ground not in the air. That will prevent most of the rocking of the vehicle while on the jack. While my jack is made for my vehicle, using a different one would be dangerous as it won't fit the pocket and could slip. One pet peeve is used car dealers that will strip the jack, tire iron, and security key out of vehicles.
