OFFSIDE? An attacking Player can not be nearer the goal than 2 of the Defending team. Invariably, one of those "2" will be The Goalkeeper so as long as One defender is nearer the goal then a forward is ONSIDE. If there are no defenders but just the Goalkeeper nearer the goal then the attacking player is OFFSIDE. The End😀

I enrolled my 11 year old in Soccer last October. When I went to talk to the director of the league and meet her coach I was informed there wasn't one and they asked if I'd like to do it. I re-watched Ted Lasso and used everything I could from the show to help my team. We went 6-2 that season. I've been asked to come back next year by all the parents so to hear Nikki say "You have to do that with the kids" you REALLY should. It works!

There are 20 teams in the Premier League. Each season, the bottom 3 teams get relegated to the league below, the Championship, and the top three teams in the Championship get promoted into the Premier League. There are multiple tiers to English football, and the higher the league, the more money is involved, so a lot is at stake. You might enjoy watching Welcome to Wrexham, which is a show about the Welsh soccer team that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny bought. Wrexham were in the 5th tier of English football, and have been promoted twice since they bought the team. They would still need to be promoted two more times to be in the Premier League.

This. I will add more emphasize the money by mentioning that relegation can be devastating for a team because suddenly the club isnt bringing in the money it did and players (especially on previous league salaries) might have to be jettisoned to not suffer financial ruin. The Championship also plays more games than Premier League, so there's extra strain on teams hoping to recover from relegation from the top league.

i just want to correct a small thing, in the championship only the top 2 teams are automatically promoted, 3rd to 6th place must go through a playoff and the winner will be promoted. anyway, thank you for explaining it.

It wasn't just one woman Rupert was cheating on Rebecca with - it was a large number of them over a long period of time. And remember - Rebecca hasn't seen as much of Ted as we have!

Yes! Rebecca hasn't seen him coaching. She's mostly only seen him in her office being obnoxiously positive when she only wants to feel negative. Sometimes we just want to wallow in our darkness, you know? And then this jerk comes along and makes us feel worse about ourselves for not being as cheerful... is what I assume she must be feeling. Rebecca is such an amazing character, even as the villain here.

I'm not trying to defend her actions - just explain them.

I challenge you to come back to repeat your comment after watching Shoresy, a raunchier version of a Ted Lasso type show, yet still heartwarming and makes you tear up. On a side note, Ted Lasso was created from a super bowl commercial skit. Shoresy was created out of a minor side character from another show. Two examples of when things are done right, you can do a great show about anything really. :D

The Premier League is the top league in England. There are FOUR main leagues in England: the Premier League (division 1), the Championship (division 2), League 1 (divison 3), and League 2 (divison 4). It's confusing, I know. The Premier League has 20 teams. every season, each team plays 38 games, playing each team twice: once at their home stadium and once on the road (usually called an away game) At the end of the season, the bottom 3 teams in the premier league get relegated (kicked out of the league) down to the championship, and then the top 3 teams from the championship get promoted up to the premier league, and this happens every year. Also throughout the season, there are cup competitions where teams compete in knockout football, where if you lose a game, you are knocked out of the tournement until the best team wins. The main two that will be mentioned in ted lasso are the EFL League Cup (teams in England's top 4 leagues compete in this competition) and the FA Cup (open to all clubs in England, even the very low-tier teams), which is cool because sometimes a lower team will go on something called a Cup Run, which means that ordinary people will end up playing some of the best players in the world! sometimes the lower teams even win (highly unlikely though) The last main competition that is mentioned is the Champions League. This league is a European competition where the best qualified teams in Europe's best leagues compete to be known as the best football team in the world. clubs you may of heard of like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Liverpool. The only way to qualify for this league is if you finish the season in the TOP FOUR positions in your domestic league table. BTW, all these competitions happen simultaneously throughout the year. bit of a long one, but hopefully you understand a little bit more about football/soccer now lol.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up but the actor who plays Roy Kent is Brett Goldstein and he’s one of the talented writers of the show. He wasn’t going to be one of the actors and just stick with writing but they convinced him. He’s a great character and I’m sure will love him more as time goes on.

FYI, Ted along with the actor that plays Ted, Jason Sudeikis are both from Kansas which is why he actually knows about branding horses. His shirts he wears at home pay homage to his Kansas City beginnings where they are combinations of the local BBQ joints. Jack Stack BBQ, Aurthur Bryants etc. Also, Jason Sudeikis is real life a genuinely good guy. Him and Rob Riggle, Eric Stonestreet and other celebrities that came out of the Kansas City area all do a lot of charity for the area.
