I think the reason this movie stands out for me at least is how much heart they put into the emotional stuff. It's a fun movie with some funny moments and cool montages but at it's core it's just Ground Hog Day but a slasher film. What makes it better than it's premise is the fact that i can't watch the scene with Tree and her mum without openly weeping. That's good writing and it's the heart of the movie. All sold by the flawless performance of Tree's actor. It's sad it probably won't get another sequel but these two movies will always have a special place of honour on my DVD shelf.

For many of us, we prefer this sequel. The doctor being the killer was not a twist, it was a deliberately obvious hint. The twist was the wife being in on it. But the most important reason this sequel slaps is because it has more heart into it and there is a big decision at the end for Tree.

This movie I agree was enjoyable and entertaining like the first. Both films had the comedy, horror and heart to it all. The lead girl Jessica Rothe is fantastic at playing someone having to go through a situation over and over with out it being boring. I think that if they did do another movie I’d still see it. I’m thinking it would be called Happy Death Day Tree but spelled with a 3 (Tre3)

Love these movies. Just a tonne of fun. And yes, Jessica Rothe is fantastic and deserves to be a bigger star. If I went through most of my life without a parent and learned to cope with it, in whatever way I can...I would NOT go to a reality where they were alive, that would be even harder. Not knowing what happened on that different timeline, trying to make up for so mich loast time. That would leave me unhinged, and I'd drive myself crazy. I'd never feel like I belong because i wouldn't. Seems like an easy decision, but i don't think it is
@rickmclaughlin971011 ай бұрын
For the record in the past, getting shot in the stomach (or more precisely the intestines where Lori was shot) was a death sentence. A person would die a slow agonizing death, which if they were lucky was because of bleeding out. Otherwise, the infection would be much worse and take much longer. However, with modern antiseptics, antibiotics, and medical procedures, these kinds of wounds are very survivable. Especially as in this movie, they occur within a hospital.😊

I always felt like the joke of mixing up Anne Frank and Helen Keller was a nod to Clerks II. In the beginning when they first showed the principal being a jerk to the students about their project, I literally said.. this guy needs his nose busted. Then I remembered that actually happens later in the movie. This movie pretty much gives you everything you want. 😊 Also, I just caught on to the fact that the shredder she jumps into says “BIFF’S *TREE* REMOVAL” Not only another BTTF reference, but the double name play.. I love how much thought went into the creation of these films.

The reason i am happy they made a sequel is that they changed the story with lori. The couple makes more sense bc they have more to lose/risk than she did, i mean all that over a guy? But setting up a serial killer to take the fall and getting rid of an affair at the same time? Smart (not that i cosign it ofc).
@scottmoore75888 ай бұрын
What doesn't make any sense to me is if it was a machine that created the time loop, why exactly would Tree killing her roommate stop the loop? Like, why would a machine care if she lives or dies at the end of the day? I get it's a movie and all, but there's just no logic there.
@sugarp1e1742 ай бұрын
I think Tree mentioning how Ryan will die over and over again and the science club members implying Tree will just be killed by Babyface if she didn’t kill herself first is meant to suggest that, for some reason, Tree and Ryan only remembered the loops because they were gonna die on those days anyway. It's not that Sissy deliberately chooses who experiences the time loops, it's just that being fated to die on that day somehow makes you immune to the memory wipe. That's my theory anyway. Maybe the third movie will explain it.

The ending with Danielle is REALLY messed up, especially since she was actually nice, if still very much an airhead, and was actually helpful in this movie. It's why I feel like they added her cheating on Carter so that it's still justified what happens to her. Like, they made sure to still save Lori and have her be a better character than she was in the first movie.
@ephy959011 ай бұрын

Umm. I know they wanted to make it tough or etc but I'd be like, "Oh no... he died... that's so sad... anyways mom what movie should we watch?" Not even close. If it was like they were married for decades and had kids and she had to pick her husband or her mom I could understand a bit, but even a partner that you dated for a few years over a parent? Sorry partner. You're gone... and I'm confused that they thought that'd be a tough choice... I thought the parents would've died in the car accident and she would've had to try to go back to have her dad back and then at the end be happy with her father, and had a goodbye with the mom at the accident. THAT would've been better imo.
@haydenscholze745211 ай бұрын
That pretty fucking messed up too. While I agree that her relationship with her partner was not strong enough to make the moral dilemma really difficult.
