I've learned so much about gas, bloating, digestion and WFPB nutrition over the years so I'm excited to have two Registered Dietitian Nutritionists on today to help spread some helpful information about the microbiome and ways you can improve your digestive health! I LOVE being vegan and eating a plant-based diet has majorly improved not only my gut health but it's expanded my understanding of nutrition and how to thrive. I hope you enjoy!

Really informative video, thank you. I just wish the one woman would talk plainly instead of her apologies for the "gross" topic and words she uses. We're already here at this video b/c of issues dealing with constipation, bloating, gas, so we have a hunch it's not gonna be pretty talk. But, it's necessary. Just a constructive criticism. There is more clarity when a doc or specialist is straight & open as opposed to beating around the bush and trying to not offend sensibilities. Love your videos and have turned a few friends onto them, so, again, thank you. 😃

This is extremely helpful, I'm always overwhelmed about the slightest stomach ache and bad stool and whatever. Knowing about these things more helps.

Very good video. Even though I have yet to become vegan, I still found this video very helpful because I want to improve my gut. I have experienced these symptoms before (gas, bloating, and sometimes digestion). Maybe that’s because I’ve either been eating the wrong stuff (which I know eating too much junk food isn’t good for my gut), or it’s because I’m eating way too much in general (idk if I have a disorder of that, but I eat like a lot). This also caused me to gain weight, although I’ve been decreasing my weight lately by taking walks outside. I eventually realized that what I’m doing is what’s causing these consequences for me, so I wanted to clean my gut and stay healthy, and watching this video felt very helpful. Moving forward, I will love to follow your steps, and I hope they work very well. Thanks for this video, Nikki ♥️

Hey! Thanks for saying that because this video is certainly not just for vegans 😊 Every person experiences gut health issues from time to time and like they said in the video, it's very often due to the overall health of our gut microbiomes and not just what we ate today or yesterday etc. It seems like adding a wide variety of plant foods and getting a good amount of both soluble and insoluble fiber is key to gaining and maintaining a good balance. I'm so glad they explained that! It really changed the way I think about health and digestion overall. Anyway, hope you have a great day Gabe! Thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

Nuts have a really good amount of saturated fat in them so do some of the seeds. Should we avoid nuts and seeds also?

Every plant based diet will require a regular bowel cleansing: So, take at least every second day early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (= 15 ml) castor oil in order to prevent an intestinal blockage, for in the case that you will eat a lot of fruits or vegetables your large intestine will be really filled and you will remark this one occasionally unpleasant, this especially during the night.

Nobody mentioned low stomach acid causing pain and bloating. As a test, I started taking 2 or 3 HCl capsules with each meal and the pain in my left side that would happen each night has decreased. I have no idea if I actually have low stomach acid but the capsules seem to help a bit, but not completely.

Hi Nikki, Thank you for making such an informative video. Iam a recent follower of plant based diet and I use your recipes most of the time. The Professionals used a lot of terms that a layman has a hard time to understand. I would really appreciate if you could explain in simpler terms without using any medical terminology and suggest food sources as well. Also, the audio was a little bit low in my opinion so it was hard to understand few things.

I have been doing vegan for 8 mths now. I do like the weight loss all be is slow. I do havd to say though it has caused lots of gas issues and some bloating as well.
