For sure. There have been some solid ones on Light I Hold and Unconditional but you could tell with the albums they were slowly heading in another direction. This is back to their roots and it’s fucking awesome.

@@thebuckethatguy bands going "buttrock" was not the issue. Plenty of bands made the change to more chill albums and it sounded great. I love old BMTH, but BMTH's new stuff is so much more unique and better. Amo some of the orchestrals and lyrics and sound was really fresh. MIW, wolves at the gate, like moths to flames etc. MMF was just horrible at the change. They can not do it. Glad they are going back to metalcore.

Also, Mayleen & the Sons of Disaster also has that funky southern core feel. MMF and Mayleen & the Sons of Disaster (M&tSoD....?) have a similar southern heaviness vibe to me.

So happy they’re back. That last album was a huge miss for me personally but have always loved this band. Favorite track is definitely The Victim by far but Stay the Course is another song that resonated a lot with me 🤘🏼 glad you enjoyed it too Noc 👌🏼

@@jbwanthony3177 it was generic and simple but I would much rather them do a generic and simple track heavy than what they released off of their last album. What they did here is what they do best and what they should stick to. MMF isn’t gonna get technical or change the structure. Just like how Beartooth is it will 90% of the time be riff verse chorus riff verse (breakdown in second verse sometimes) chorus breakdown chorus and then breakdown riff. To each their own though this isn’t my song of the year at all I’m just glad to see a band that I grew up with go back to a similar sound to what I liked from them in the past. It’s all about personal preference 🤘🏼

MMF’s bass player has ALWAYS been underrated as hell. His playing and his tone is clever and subtle but at the same time VERY substantial and thick. You may not notice when it’s there but it will sound especially awful without the bass tracks

MMF doesn't have to innovate to me because their sound is THEIRS. They've just added a new twist to what we've heard from them before and that is okay! Edit: maybe it is because their last album went more towards a Hard Rock ish radio friendly formula that so many see it as a triumphant return? Could be the case. Maybe that's why it feels Fresh again to me. The old PEAK Memphis (2011-2016) mixed with some new sounds mixed in.
