It's even better if you just put your thumb and index fingers together and stretch the rest as far as you can. My middle, ring, and pinky go further by almost an entire finger (middle finger of left hand nearly lines up with ring of the right, ring with pinky, pinky with imaginary sixth finger)

i made the one about the string snapping when losing tension, i swear, on several occasions, it’s happened. i don’t know why, but it’s usually on old strings. it’s happened.

If you change tunings alot and the strings get flexed repeatedly where they bend around the tuner they can break. It's because of work hardening, like when you bend a soda can tab a bunch and it breaks off.
