@TheWarriorXander 2 жыл бұрын
@@eastjebus6870 Well, it certainly doesn't make me think of more recent Opeth songs.When I compared this to Opeth, I was including Part 1, and meant that it reminds me of the older songs that changed their sound and feel over the length of the entire song, and with them being significantly longer, sometimes the shift happened multiple times. Ghost of Perdition, Deliverance, Black Rose Immortal (my favourite) Master's Apprentices, When - all of these songs are longer than 8 minutes (typically most modern bands could make 2-3 songs to cover that length of time) and their sound changes noticeably throughout.

I think part 1 was more so about the grief of losing someone, while part 2 is more about knowing that all the goodness in life, all your accomplishments, everything you ever aim to achieve for most people will be completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things, we truly just disappear from this world and this existence after it all ends. I think it would be incredibly beautiful for part three to pick up where the man in the video lives through his attempted suicide and finds meaning to live on without his loved one and knowing that despite all his trials and tests, he can find a way to find peace and happiness in this world continuing on.

Both to signify the reality that there is no happy ending to sui**de and also possibly to foreshadow feelings of failure and disappointment with the fact that he survived in the next part

I think the song actually quite nicely fits what happens in the story. I can imagine there would be not only sadness but a bunch of rage to battle with. This was such an AMAZING song! I get why this one wasn't quite as emotional as the last one because it feels like they're expressing the 5 stages of grief through song, so this has more of an angrier feeling to it, while the first had more of a feeling of sadness to it. Now they could choose to end the story here, but it kinda feels like there's more to the story considering they also ended abruptly like with The Pain Remains I.

Okay, Nik, Seriously, this will now be the 3rd time I've brought these guys up over the years. They just released their new song and you've never listened to them yet and they are far too good to be this underrated. Give them a reaction and get them some new viewers. If I Were You - Wither. Once you see how amazing they are maybe you'll get some more reactions from there last 2 albums.

well judging by the name of the song (they released full track list dont want to type it here because not sure if you know and or want it spoiled if not) its probably gonna have a sick ending to it that brings the song to a full Epic that leaves you wanting more

Deathcore* (with obvious blackened and melo flairs, but they're a deathcore band first and foremost, before anyone tries to correct me), and besides, there's an entire sub-genre of death metal whose whole thing is sadness and melancholy

The trilogy of songs together channel so much pain, it’s a strange feeling. I can’t listen to them without crying. I’ve suffered with depression for over 25 years, I’ve experienced so much loss and trauma, for some reason this just brings everything to a head.

This song is trying to portray the frustration of dealing with loss. that's why the melody isn't satisfying and even slightly unsettling. I feel like nik isn't looking at the full picture when it comes to this trilogy of songs. i think this trilogy is turning out to be an artistic masterpiece

I'm new to Lorna Shore. I've listened to a several songs of theirs recently, the first was To the Hellfire, which I thought was pretty good and brutal AF. I didn't realize they do songs with no brutal riffage and zero breakdowns like this, also, not sure how it's "disturbing". This is pretty tame compared to a lot of music videos that are on youtube, like the end of the HLB Earthless video for instance (which you reacted to). Full on high quality neck spurting gore effects. I'm guessing you're not a horror fan heh

I like your reaction to this video a lot. Even though the video for into the earth for example, is meant to be scary, it doesn’t achieve the same thing as this video, after getting emotionally invested in the character after the first part, no amount of creepy distorted alien faces in into the earth can make you feel as gross and sad as the characters portrayal of just plain and simple taking his own life. It’s so bleak and brutal. Fantastic shit, Adam’s knowledge of the human psyche really shines through in his music. I absolutely love Lorna Shore
