I'm always so upset when Infant Annihilator isn't brought up when talking about this new era of deathcore. Lorna Shore and Disembodied Tyrant are certainly expanding on that sound, but IA started it. I get that they're a meme band, but I think they deserve way more credit.

The ending of Brimstone and fire (specifically the redux version) is one of the hardest lines of music I've ever heard. And then when I heard Winter and realized what he was actually doing o had to pause to compose myself. It's wild watching the new standard being made in front of us.

Man, back when i was in high school, we never imagined death/extreme/-core metal would get heavier than Meshuggah and necrophagist. Yeah we had tons of ultra-heavy stuff on par with the modern bands, at least in part, but there were obvious periods of stagnation in the broader extreme metal genre, especially in the djent era. His remark about everything being stolen and remixed til it is its own thing is on point, you can hear that with how slayer influenced that first wave of death metal. A lot of musicians can't handle that reality, and they either wind up sounding like everything else, or just give up. Man, dude is a serious class act. Very frank and humble. Definitely one of those people who could pick up any profession and either do it well or exceptionally.

There must be some kind of cosmic convergence around the initials 'DT' - I LOVE Devin Townsend, Dream Theater, Dark Tranquility, and now Disembodied Tyrant. I decided the other day that he/they are my favourite deathcore band (even though they are MORE than a deathcore band)

Never heard of him before, then a few weeks ago I was looking for an Ingrid michealson song called winter song and this came up as well. whenever songs from tyrant's first album appear in my queue, it seems to me like Shadow of Intent's material, that I, somehow slipped throught. So the next time I hear Shadow of Intent's song, that is not SOI's song, I know who actually did it. But latest content from Blake feels like "...and I return to nothingness", same revolutinary, same short EP as promo to a long play. That is awesome
