This ep was really nice, because it wasn't the usual format of Craig, asking questions, guest responds, Craig Annecdote, Move on. It was organised Chaos, interjections from simon with back up on points, also Simon being the best producer and reminding them where they were if they lost their point in the conversations. Also, my favourite parts were where Chris asked Craig questions, because it's nice to see Craig relax and answer questions about himself rather than worrying about it being all about good high quality content. It was like being sat in a pub and listening to two new mates shoot the shit. Good work!

Hi! “Pleasant American Man” here (1:10:10), thank you both for the in depth response! I put 95% of my energy into drumming and virtually none of it on mixing or engineering (I also pay friends to help with that) but I’ve always wondered if this was holding me back. I have goals of being a serious session drummer / content creator, and I always assumed that people like Chris knew how to do it all themselves. So, it’s great to hear that even legendary drummers don’t know this stuff by default, and also that engineering is the more important of the two for a drummer to master so they can at least record themselves and send it to a professional mixer. Much love to you both (and you too Simon!!) - the downbeat community fucking rules ❤

When I first started following you, it was for stray and drum videos. I went through the backlog of podcasts and listened to interviews with people/bands I liked. After the kublai khan episode, I just listen to all of them. Absolutely top notch. I don’t listen to a lot of these bands, but these podcasts are always amazing.

Shout out to "Simon the Sidekick" for doing a banger job at using search engines and making edits that are buttery smooth and that one cut that genuinely had me questioning if there even was one at all(when Craig listens to the new OAA track). Absolutely incredible episode. And there's so much more you guys need to talk about, right at the end of this one you started getting into a whole other episode of topics. We need Chris Turner, on The Downbeat Podcast, 2. Also I bounce between the video and audio only versions as i go about my day, and when one of those burps hit I genuinely thought spotify had randomly started to play some hardcore breakdown or something, just a super loud "BLLEEERRRGH" out of nowhere. Man needs to do some guest vocals.
