This is probably the most important camera for nikon in ages. Most people can't afford the z9 or z8 and they have waited for the z6iii for years. And they delivered on this one. Its a incredible power house of a camera. Its really is going to change things for nikon.

I agree. Not everyone can afford the z8 or the Z9 or wants that size camera. The Z6ii is just right size and price bracket

This is a happy day for you I'm sure! I'm truly torn on this one. I have the Fujifilm X-H2S and many Fujifilm lenses. I was really hoping the Z6III would NOT be exciting, but it is! I want to buy it and see if it makes sense to me more than the X-HS2, but the differences between the two are not as compelling to me, apart from the full frame sensor. Scenario A: I could use it and do well and the Zf could be my back up camera for events. I could then sell the X-H2S and keep only the two older Fuji bodies and lenses just for street photography. Yet a big problem: I don't have many Nikon lenses so I'd need to sell off more of my Fuji lenses to do this. Scenario B: I could wait and resist... keeping my eye out for used copies in the future. For half the price I could get a Fuji X-T5 and use that as my back up to the X-H2S. I'd then use the Zf for street. oh, such problems! 😆

I think there’s an episode here in your comment! I took some time to reply to your msg because this is a very interesting one. Can you share what lenses you have for the Fuji system and what of them are absolutely essential for you? Also, are you doing commercial work right now?

@@FramesTM hello! Thanks for the question. I shoot events, street and wildlife. No commercials work. Fuji lenses are - Tamron 150-500 f/ 5.6 - 6.7, Fuji lenses- 70-300mm, 33mm 1.4, 18 1.4, 27 2.8, 18-55, Sigma 18-50mm and 10-18mm, TT Artisan 23mm f1.4 manual lens. The essential ones I’d say are the Sigma 18-50 for events, 70-300mm for wildlife though the Tamron is amazing… and for street, the 33mm 1.4.

I like your style, it's calming, it's not chaotic, you are not shouting in our face or jumping around! That's why I subscribed. But your color grading for your videos look a little bit off to me. It looks like you are surround by a smoke layer or there is something on your lens! I want to wipe my phone screen haha!

Leica did experiments with the tilt screen and flip out screen and went with the tilt because they didn't think that the technology using the flip out for durability wasn't there yet. So there flagship SL3 only has the tilting Screen. Nikon is always pushing the standards constantly.

Flip out screens look week. The implementation of flip out screen on a7v is the best

I don't know if the screens fall apart, none of my cameras live that long to know. I just don't like the screen being in the way of the left hand, and also being off center.

The price in the US may be fine, but in many Euro-countries the price is 2.999€ - and nearly all of the comments clearly quote that it is ~ 500€ too much! At least in many parts of Europe many people will wait for a clear price drop before buying one!

I agree. It should have been priced at exact 2300 usd and 2500 eur and 2,00,000 Indian rupees. It is inconveniently priced

Well I was Partially right about the Z6iii having a stacked sensor 😂 But I am going to be blunt. I feel a little disappointed with the Z6iii for- 1) Serious missed opportunity with Pre-capture RAW, because the Sony A7V will have it within a year maybe from now.. Having PreCapture RAW would have pushed it above Canon because they are seriously struggling with PreCapture. 2) The Screen should have been the Sony A7R5 screen. Could have kept the viewfinder same as of Z8/9, it won't matter much as the main screen would matter since this is specially targeted for Videos. They should have kept the new EVF for Z8/8 ii or High Megapixel Z7iii later. I heard the colours of EVF & Screen don't match up as the EVF is way better & colour accurate. 3) The 4:2:2 dilemma ( I don't care though😂) 4) No new Battery 5) No innovation in Pixel Shift like Sony. 6) No separate Bird AF 7) No Cycle AF Area switch (Like Come On, what is this). Don't know if 3D tracking is available or not without subject detection. 7) Autofocus still seems a bit jumpy in Video, I have seen it in Z8 & Jared Polin video of Z6iii. In Photos I have not seen any problem as Jared mentioned on my Z8. 8) Price too close to a new Z8, only around 60k difference. The main point is that Nikon may have missed an opportunity with the Z6iii being more polished. I don't think people will switch brands for the Z6iii as I was expecting. It's just like that Nikon didn't have a competitor for R6ii & A7iv and they have it now. But I think it is not enough to make people switch & I think the A7V will beat it. Remember Sony also has A7S series.

I appreciated your comments on the lack of advanced video features at the end of your video. They don't interest me as I always struggle with video. But It will be interesting to see if some of those features that you wanted can be done in later firmware

According to Ricci the Z6iii doesn't have Recall Shooting Functions so it has the same focusing limitation as the Zf.

The current $1000 gap between the Z6iii and the Z8 isn't really that much. So if one can't afford the Z8, then it's most likely one can't afford the Z6iii either. Those claiming in the REAL world, nobody needs more then 24MP, well clearly those folks are wrong. Hence Nikon and others having their 45MP camera and Sony their 61MP camera. And no, it's not just marketing. Shocking would be if this Camera was $2000. At $2500, this is basically the BASELINE of what any FF should have being released in 2024 moving forward, so shocking, ah NO. This is basically where TECH has moved to. Shocking would be having a Global Shutter in this price range. Not a partially stacked Sensor 24MP camera. So my first reaction was Nice Features, but shocking, Hardly.

This will make a used Z8 the better buy.... but .. problem is, nobody is selling their Z8s 😂😂😂 Will wait for a couple of years..right now I'm still happy with my ZF

Refurbished Z8s can get as low as 3200 from Nikon, anyday over the Z6iii

The sensor is so much improved. The Z6ii has only 51200 max ISO, that's lame. The new Z6iii goes to ISO 64000 -- that's a life changing improvement, must have! 😁

The question is Z8 has been heavily discounted vs A new Z6iii how much the $$ gap is worth? Photographers = Z8 for the Megapixel count and Videographer = Z6iii .. Nikon really targeted R6ii and A7IV/A7III with 60 FPS no crop burst no rolling shutter and 240 FPS FHD video ❤

I think 240 is the same as 100MPs. In the real world I have never see anybody need it. If you have a use case then go for it.

Not a bad effort by Nikon. However, I wish they had gone the A7RV route for the backscreen and that it had a shutter angle, which the S5II has. The Z6III is an excellent release, but I can't help but feel that the S5IIX is still of better value. However, if you're already invested in the Nikon Z system, the Z6III would make more sense.

Aside from the partially stacked sensor and internal raw (and how many will use that feature that are not full-time working pros), what else is a major separator between the two? Now if you're already in the Z system it makes sense to stay there. Please don't get me wrong, Tye Z6 III is well-featured, but I’m not sure it’s all that and a bag of chips.
