And my favorite thing of all is the way he doesn’t show off after making yet another spectacular play. The arena erupts and he just runs down to the other end and plays defense. I’m embarrassed for all of the chest-thumping, yelling, look-at-me egotists I’m forced to see when watching the great game of basketball. This man plays the game straight up and he’s a team player. Jokic is the reason why I started watching the NBA again. Just because he's putting up numbers I've/we've never seen before. It's not even close. He's by far the best player in the NBA right now and I thought that even before this playoff run. It's shocking that this hasn't been the general census. And those analyst clowns who judge play based almost entirely on rings are just that clowns. Up until this point... it wasn't even possible for Jokic to compete for the championship, because the team was building and last year key guys on the Nuggets were injured. This was the first year that Jokic had a chance to win a ring... and even if the Nuggets came up short in the playoffs.. he would still be the best in the league. It's not even close. Giannis is another excellent player, but Jokic is another degree better, because of his highly versatile game, where he doesn't have any notable holes or bad games for that matter. Defense is probably the weaker part of his game, but that's because everything else is on another level... but it's certainly not a hole in his game or a liability.
