Great workshop, my only criticism is that the camera person had the camera on you while you were showing us different techniques on the screen. They gave you the pointer but didn't show what you were pointing to. Other than that when we did get a chance to see the screen it was really awesome, and I must admit I learned some more tricks I wasn't aware of. I must admit they eventually zoomed out so that we could see what you were doing, I have been doing work on KZbin using Procreate on my channel. I purchased 3 of your Art Study Online courses and it helped me understand more about digital art. Excellent work on your part!
@nikolailockertsen8 жыл бұрын
umbeon Thank you so much. Yes, I know the camera should have zoomed out! Totally agree :-) I am very glad to hear it helped you and that you found some new tricks on ArtStudyOnline as well. Cheers

Mr. Nikolai, I am from Colombia and I found the lecture very interesting, I follow your illustrations on youtube recently but since my language is Spanish I could not understand very bn but what little I could ententer helped me, it is totally overwhelming that technique of illustration , I practice every day but for now what I have is a pc and a genius tablet but the time will come when I get an ipad pro, I think it is really great what you do greetings from colombia =)

What brand of stand is that blue stand Niko? I don't see it anywhere on the internet. I like that it raises up the iPad/case off the desk and is more ergonomic to paint with.

I talked briefly with Nikolai at very first Lightbox in LA in 2019. I'm pretty old, so not so shy when talking to people... He was super approachable and very open to discussing art and the tools. Very nice guy. If you ever get the opportunity at an event in the future, do what he says and just go and have a chat... don't be afraid. You'll learn something.

Hi Nikkolai, great presentation. Thank you for posting. Out of curiosity, which model iPad do you use nowadays. And do you use any kind of screen protector to modify the iPad's smooth, glassy surface? I'm seeing a lot of artists preferring a rougher, diffuse surface, but then struggling with the 'graininess' that those protectors introduce. Cheers! Keep up the good work
@nikolailockertsen7 жыл бұрын
Daniel Dutch Sorry for late response. I dont have any screenprotector myself, so I cannot give you a good answer. I would ask in a Apple store to hear what they reccomend

Frustrating camerawork. At 30:11, you're talking about 3 point perspective and the camera just sits there on you - even when you turn and indicate something on screen with your pointer. I really hate when videos do that. It's nice to see the lecturer sometimes but only when he isn't showing new information on his visual aid. If the visual aid is actively changing or has recently changed, then the camera should focus on that. The lecture itself was great. I learned a lot.

Loved this video, very informative and inspiring. I've watched a couple of your other time lapse videos and I see that you start out in gray-scale but then suddenly you apply a wash of colour. I would love to know how this is done. Could you please consider making a tutorial of this subject?

I found the program on my iPad 2. We just have to use the finger. I did hear that Apple is working on getting older iPads to work with the pencil. Sounds exciting. I read Savage started in July of 2013 with ProCreate. I also heard the the 12.9 iPad pro does not transfer the work the same as a regular 10 in pro. Are you familiar? Do you use the 12.9 or 10? I took notes all through the 1 hour take you gave. I do appreciate the inspiration!!

The Pocket version requires 9.1 or later. No good for my iPhone 4 with 7.2😓
