Hi Nikol, I really enjoyed your video today. The little jacket from Talbots is precious. I have been thin all my life until now . I have stage IV melanoma cancer , and I am bloated most of the time. Bonjour! Thank you for your positive and honest testimony! You look wonderful and I didn't even notice the "wrinkle" till you mentioned it. I'm 68, French, and I am so grateful for my face as it is :) Aging is natural, it is life and it is MY life, my personality, so I just take good care of my skin like my mother and grandmothers did (they were amazing women and role models!) , without buying expensive skincare, just a few good quality products as natural as possible. I avoid toxic substances as much as possible, and read the ingredients before buying. Good cleansing, moisturising, good sleep, enough water and healthy food, and lots of smiles! 🥰

The ideas that you were explaining with regard to altering of the face and getting used to that altered look - it's not too much different than the idea behind going gray that you talked about some years ago when you started going gray. Many people assumed they would hate their gray hair, but you always encouraged us to wait and see what your gray hair will look like before you make up your mind whether you want to do this or not. And I really believe it's the same thing as you stated with this Botox and fillers stuff. That people alter their faces and then they get used to that dream, and then when the dream fades, they're falling apart in terms of their egos, their pride, and whatever else is involved. The idea of altering our faces is not like exercise. When we exercise and work out faithfully, we alter our bodies, but it's still our natural selves, and we feel wonderful with ourselves. However, altering ourselves artificially, I believe, will only hinder if not halt our personal growth from within, and that's the most important growth! Embrace our natural grey - embrace our natural beauty! I'm almost 70, and that's my mantra! ❤

I don't see a difference between building muscle with weights and lifting my face to restore it. Both are consciousky applied methods to feel and look fit. Saying that working out is "natural" and therefore morally acceptable makes no sense.

@dammar117 lifting your face by artificial means is not the same as exercising your body. Exercising your body also puts you in a healthier state, whereas Botox and fillers do not put you in a healthier state. And as far as I recall, I didn't say anything about being morally acceptable or not. Whether you decide to lift your face is absolutely your choice, but don't expect it to make you stay or look permanently fit because it won't.

@@Cat-no8ts Neither will exercise. At some point, age will catch up. Even old bodybuilders aren't as fit as young bodybuilders. Exercise, like cosmetic procedures, serves to delay aging, not eradicate it. Also, I'm not a proponent of botox (never had it, never will) or lots of filler. I've had a small, conservative amount of filler at the bone level to compensate for bone loss. But a well done facelift is a great thing to restore one's image.

I have a bit of an earring “problem” 😊 so I’m going to try to avoid purchasing those Egret earrings, even though there are Egrets in my neighborhood. Thank you for sharing your surgery story about the fillers. Years ago, I had a head-on wreck and my nose was broken. I found out the doctor chose to shorten my nose when I woke up! My nose was the main reminder of my dad, who’d died when I was 26. It took me a solid year before I could look in the mirror without crying. I decided then that I’d never have plastic surgery. Isn’t funny how critical we all are of our own faces and bodies, yet we can easily see beauty in others. I am in my 50s and I am constantly scrutinising myself. The menopausal changes that are happening to me- weight gain, break outs etc, yet when both my mum and my gran went through the same thing none of them did anything cosmetic to themselves and I thought they were beautiful. That’s my inspiration as I think maybe if I didn’t see anything wrong with them then ‘people’ won’t see anything wrong with me. As well as the fact I see my mum looking back at me from the mirror as I age and I don’t want to do cosmetics tweaks in case I distort my face so much I don’t see her any more. Each to their own I guess, but I am with you Nikol and trying to just make the best of myself.

Now years later the constant rubbing my eyes and natural aging process - my right eye especially has loose skin. If it ever gets to a point it interferes with my vision I might consider that too. I just turned 62 and while I am seeing friends have it done, I am seeing that the fillers cause issues and other areas, IE swollen eyes after forehead injections.
