Hi there, I know this camera is obsolete now, but do you remember using it in winter days?
@ThePhotographyHobbyist4 жыл бұрын
I didn’t keep this camera very long, maybe just seven or eight months before switching to something else with a larger sensor.

Hey, do you know if the battery needs to be charged. Or can you plug in a cable for this camera? I know it’s quite a hard question to ask, however I found my old camera I got for 10 years ago in my sisters room, hidden behind her drawers :P

There are some aftermarket power supplies that plug in to the wall (electric). The battery it normally uses is the Nikon EN-EL21 You can buy aftermarket batteries like this (with a battery charger): a.co/d/296cCGl Power adapter: a.co/d/98VTQFP

Have you tried the FT1 adapter with your 24-85mm lens? Do you have a 70-300 or 70-200mm lens you could mount?
@ThePhotographyHobbyist10 жыл бұрын
I only used the native Nikon 1 lenses. I never tried the FT1.

Scott K There is one very nice video from Blunty on the FT1. I'm waiting to get mine in the next few days as well as a Nikon AF-S DX 55-200mm to get some aditional reach.

That’s the extra service I provide. Some shoot waves lapping the shoreline so you can listen to it at bedtime. I make camera videos. 😉

enjoyed video - you are like me a collector of various cameras :) I have not tried the Nikon V1 or V2 as there was really no manual control - so I opted for the very nice Fuji X20 in that camera size - not interchangeable but a fabulous lens 28-110m F2.0-2.8 so although the sensor is a bit smaller than in the V1/V2 I find IQ just as good ( have friends with the V1/v2 ) - I just find the viewfinder on the V2 a bit out of place as it is not removable - I think that the viewfinder in the Fuji X20 is a good compromise - not EVF but optical but it has overlay with the exposure info etc. so not the greatest but then again the body is sleek - I also have the Olympus Stylus 1 which I really love as well and has the large EVF from the OMD-Em5 - to me I would sacrificed some viewfinder quality to just make the viewfinder smaller - I find my self using the LCD much more the smaller the camera gets - so even on the V2 i think I would have said give me a tilt-able LCD and smaller viewfinder which would make the camera sleeker - I have the Sony RX100 with the 1 inch sensor - I wonder how the Nikon V1/V2 compare in IQ with the RX100 - the body of the V2 is similar to the Sony NEX5n and NEX7 which I also have minus the viewfinder hump - and that proves also that they can make a small viewfinder - same with my Fuji X100s no hump and great viewfinder - granted the V2 is maybe a bit shorter - The Panasonic LF1 is a very small compact camera with a EVF that is flush with the body - So the biggest turn off for me was the lack of manual controls - I found out after getting the NEX5n and NEX 7 that I want more manual controls and I got very frustrates with the NEX cameras due to lack of manual controls and the V1 which I was looking at first just so auto and I did not care for the menu -

I sold the V2 and I think I'm finished with the Nikon 1 series. I don't see a point in it for me, since I'd always have a higher quality small camera, like the E-M1 for example. Sure, the E-M1 is a little bigger, but at some point a small difference in size doesn't really matter too much. The difference between a full frame DSLR vs a m4/3 is a big difference....but the difference between a V2 and E-M1 isn't a big difference. So it only makes sense to go with the better quality system.

Not sure what you're talkin about you can use the V1 manually
