Nicely done video, I was considering both the 50 mm 1.8 and the 35 mm 1.8, it seems that the 35 mm is a little more versatile than the 50 mm. I am not sure when you would use the 50 mm 1.8 in lieu of the 35 mm? Excellent pictures and an attractive model. Thank you again.

I shoot with a D7500, and own both the 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8. While I definitely use the 35mm more on a day-to-day basis, the 50mm makes for a much smoother portrait lens. The compression isn’t tight enough on the 35mm to make it a very good portrait lens (unless you’re super close to your subject). However, it’s an incredible lens. Every Nikon APS-C owner should own the 35mm.

@EpicAperture7 жыл бұрын
Hey Clarence Newby, Good Question. I would not say "better" without a given situation. Because both 35 and 50mm provide very close performance quality. But you could choose between these lenses considering what situations you're gonna be using these for. For example. if you are left to choose between 35mm and 50mm 1.8G for street photography; i'd choose 35mm over 50mm. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!

If you haven't bought one go for the 35mm... It is better all rounded lens. Because you have a crop factor the 35mm is like a 50mm so the 50mm is like an 85mm lens. You won't be able to use the 50mm nowhere else than portraits.. That is my opinion of course mate..

@Ladywrip7 жыл бұрын
When I first got into photography (as a hobby only) I purchased the Nikon D3300, and it came bundled with the 18-55mm kit lens. I didn't know much about photography, but I knew enough to recognize good image quality when I saw it, and the Nikon kit lens is a reeeeeealllllly good lens to start with - especially when shooting it wide open and at a decent distance to your subject (I took a lot of really nice head shots with that lens). I now own the Nikon D7200 and Nikon 85 f1.8g & Nikon 50 f1.8g, and I must say that the combination of these two lenses with the D7200 is AWESOME... Very sharp images, nice rich color and very little vignetting. DISCLAIMER: I originally bought the 85 f1.8g when I still owned my D3300, and although Nikon's 85 f1.8g lens has rave reviews from almost everyone that owns it, HONESTLY... I didn't like the image quality that lens produced when paired with the D3300. However, now that I've upgraded my camera body the 85mm f1.8g and 50 f1.8g perform without flaw with my D7200. So in short, they're both terrific pieces of glass to invest if portraiture work is what you're into, and you need glass that can get the job done on a budget.
@syedadeelmumtaz87107 жыл бұрын
Rahul, 18-55 is a cheap lens and good les, and normally comes in the box of the camera. if you are going to use DSLR for the first time, then 18-55 is very good for getting used to. remember, dslr are different from digital cameras..

André i was also worried about bokeh with this lens compared to 50. But after all, I‘m buying this. I found out, that it’s better for my DX camera. 50mm is perfect for portraits, but it isn’t that good for street photography and that is the main reason for me to buy 35mm. I would say, that 35mm is more pratcital and I can live with less bokeh on my portrait photos :D.

Who cares about the lens - your wife is beautiful ;) I could easily be her granddad and very respectful to your family so i'm allowed to say that! ;) I've got this lens (on a D5200)! It is so much better than any kit zoom lens that i would recommend it all the times. The picture quality when it comes to the technical elements like sharpness, colour or contrast is just great. In the end it goes down to personal taste and private preference. I prefer the 85mm 1.8g lens because it helps to get a bit closer. Again - this is just my own taste.
