I actually bought this camera when it first came out and am very pleased with it. It has a small sensor, so as long as you don't push the ISO above 800, it produces pretty good photos. Some of the positives for me are the big reach (840mm equivalent), RAW capabilities, electronic viewfinder, touchscreen, build (it feels solid), and ergonomics (it fits well in my hands). The VR in this camera is also very, very good. I can handhold it indoors at relatively low shutter speeds and get good results. While it will not replace a DSLR or similar camera, it's a great camera to carry when you don't want to carry a DSLR or mirrorless camera and lenses, with a fantastic zoom range. Nikon also released a firmware update that helps improve buffer speed (and a few other issues). So I can definitely recommend this camera.

This is a great camera, especially for street photography. I also have pro DSLR cameras and am an experienced photographer. This camera shoots in RAW, has 35x optical zoom (optical zoom is what you want, not digital zoom), a tilting screen, and an electronic viewfinder. Great for street photography because it's small to carry, you don't look like a pro shooting with it so you blend in, you can use the tilting screen, turn the sounds of and it doesn't look like you are even shooting, then go home and process your RAW images to get all the detail out of the files. Excellent camera.

I've got one, brilliant camera, does a great job and well made and works perfectly with my Samsung S10. The phone takes great pics but doesn't have a 35x optical zoom

I agree about not spending almost a grand for this. Don't buy it new, this is old technology.
