Nikon D70 in 2023

Put a decent glass on it and it will still astound you with its quality. I firmly believe that the D70 and the D200 were the cameras that saved Nikon who hadn't found the transition from film to digital easy.

I always thought I got better images right out of the camera over my upgrade the D300. The D70's auto function always gave me excellent exposures. I would recommend the D70 over the D300 if looking for a vintage digital camera with excellent image quality. I'm going to get another D70 eventually. Wish Nikon made a full frame camera with the CCD technology.

Why not? I think that Nikon D70 is still perfectly suitable for web images or other screen applications,

I reckon megapixels don't matter so much - it's all about the light and lens quality IMO. I still use my old D70 with some quality Nikkor glass, and I get very nice results.
