Another excellent and really helpful guide for using live view and manual focusing. Your work with this camera fits in well with the user manual. Actually, your videos are more helpful than just relying on the manual alone! I think I’ll start looking for either a prime telephoto lens or a zoom lens and use this video as my primary guide. Many thanks for producing this video. Cheers!

@tonygarrett7214 Hi Tony. Thank you so very much! That is very kind of you to say. Your words are a great encouragement to me and mean so much! I am glad I can be helpful and make videos that can guide others on how to use this camera with an assortment of lenses. I hope you're doing well my friend, and thank you always for your support. Hope you're having a great week and get some great pics in the days to come! Kris

What you call selection point type focus at 6:49 is actually the auto follow. First select with the box something in the picure. If you push ok it will follow the selected object in the picture. It is great for filming a moving object which is coming towards you or is moving through the picture.

Hey bro you are doing great job i have a question:how i can see the changes in the exposure in live mode when adjusting the iso the shutter speed because when i change these nothing change on the screen i see your screen changed when you adjusted the setting ❤❤
@Kris_World16 күн бұрын
@stupidnerd8627 Hey man to do this using a cpu lens go to f6 on your pencil menu under controls. There you will see a menu called Customize command dials menu. So here is the path. Pencil Menu /f controls/f6 Customize Command Dial/ Aperture Setting Here you can change it from using the command dial to using the aperture ring. If you change this remember to change it back if needed. Now you can use your aperture setting in Live View. I learned about this after I made this video. Thank you for the kind comment and feedback and for watching my video. Hope all is well. Kris

I have a D7200. When in Live View or using the Preview button when looking through the viewfinder, nothing changes when shutter, aperture, etc are changed. The image preview stays exactly the same. In the viewfinder, the image preview goes dark. I can see changes in the background when I adjust aperture, but nothing with light as the image preview is dark. I have heard everything from "Nikon eliminated a gear in that model that prevents true preview" to "you're doing something wrong." My son who is a professional videographer gave it a try and could not succeed. Any ideas why preview does not work on the D7200?

@clanenh603 Hi sorry for the late response. Hmmm I am not sure why this would be for the Nikon D7200 because unfortunately I don't own this camera, but from doing some research I have noticed that people who do own this camera have had a very similar issue. But no on seems to be able to figure it out. Some have said to send it to Nikon so it can be repaired. I do know that if you are viewing images on your camera and you have the preview button pressed you won't be able to change shutter speed or aperture until you press the shutter button half way down. Are you able to access the menus on your camera? Also make sure you don't have the camera in mirror up mode. its on the left dial. It should be in S or CH mode. The Mirror UP mode will make so you can't take photos. You can try to reset the camera by pressing and then holding the exposure compensation button and the - zoom button together for 3 or more seconds but keep in mind it will reset your setting on your camera to factory setting. Other than that I don't really know what else it could be. I hope the information has helped in any way. Thank you for watching my video. Kris

Thanks for some really helpful topics learning a lot about my d7000! My autofocus goes haywire when i use live view unfortunately, i don't know how to address it
@Kris_World4 ай бұрын
@miles-thesleeper-monroe8466 Hi Miles! You are very welcome! Thank you for watching my video! As for your autofocus goes while in life view, the camera has a hard time focusing in general when in automatic focus mode, unfortunately. Especially when I use the AF-F mode while in live view. Mine goes crazy. The way I have addressed this is to fine tune your autofocus for your lens, first and foremost, to get the most accurate focus possible between your lens and your camera. I have a video on how to do this if you haven't already on my channel. Next when in live view make sure your camera is set to AF-S and the selection point mode. You can change these settings by holding down the front left button underneath your lens labeled AF-M and using your aperture dials and your shutter speed dials to change the settings. I also like to use the digital zoom feature on my camera to check focus. Other than that I would say try manual focusing and see if that works for you as well. I like to set the lens to manual focus and use the zoom button on the camera to check my focus while in live view. I hope this helps. Kris

@miles-thesleeper-monroe8466 The D7000 is unfortunately prone to having focusing issues. I have talked to a lot of people who have this camera, and they to have had focusing issues. Lets just say it has been a process on getting this camera to work for me the way I want it to. But I have learned a lot. But I absolutely love it! No problem at all! I hope it helps! It is an amazing camera, and yes I do still have mine. I actually use it as my primary camera. I have a D700 but the d7000 is my go to camera for most of my photography. The 16mp sensor is just awesome! If you have any questions about your camera let me know, I'll do what I can to help.

Hey Kris, I watched your AF fine tuning video which was great and I think I've stumbled upon an improvement. It seems to work better with AF fine tuning turned off. I shall keep experimenting

When using Live View on my D7000, I'm able to change the aperture. I'm shooting with a Nikkor 16-85mm 1:3.5-5.6 G ED DX.
@Kris_World2 ай бұрын
@joefitzy Yes this is true when you use Aperture priority. Then numbers will change, but for me it won't show a live change. You have to turn live view on and off to see the change or take a picture to see the live change for an aperture setting. If you would like to see a live change though and if your lens does have a Aperture ring on it then you can go into the pencil icon/f-controls/customize command dials/aperture settings/Aperture ring. With this set you can actually use your aperture ring with you camera manually and then you will be able to see a live presentation of your lens changing aperture on live view. To reverse the process just change Aperture ring to (Sub Command dial) Hope this helps. Thank you for watching! Kris

@loic16 Sorry this is late, but what mode do you have it in? Make sure your D7000 is either in M mode or A mode. You won't be able to change your exposure if you are in Auto Mode. I hope this helps. Let me know what the outcome is. Kris
