I guess with the higher cost of living nowadays, rent, house repayments, bills and food all going through the roof, the Nikon D750 secondhand is a viable budget option for those not splashed with cash 📸

Purchased my D750 upon retiring in 2015 as a first DSLR camera, intent on reviving a 25 year idled photography hobby. This year, while shooting vistas in Montana, the shutter mechanism broke. I sent it to Nikon for repairs, expecting a $300+ repair bill. Nikon replaced the shutter and did a complete refurbish - and did it all at zero cost, for 'goodwill', they even covered the cost of shipping it back to me. Kudos to Nikon for a great product and great service.

Keith, That’s great to hear…I’m about ready to pull the trigger on a D750 (reviving a 15 year idled hobby) glad to hear Nikon stepped up to cover the cost…did you send it to them directly or go through a camera shop?

might not be "goodwill" cause the D750 was RECALLED for shutter problems at the very start, they probably saw your serial number was one that never came back before

You are exactly correct. It's not the gear that takes the photograph, It's the photographer. Love seeing video's about older model cameras. There is nothing wrong with a working camera body. Great Video Adrian.

I have had my D750 for 7 years now. It's the best camera I have ever owned. I bought the Z6ii about a month ago. And I love that camera so far as well. But I am definitely going to keep my D750. No way I can bring myself to part with it. I mostly do studio shoots with an occasional outdoor shoot. Both cameras are outstanding.

Image quality is excellent. The color isn’t like most cameras models. The colors are richly balanced and has this filmic feel rather than digital to its pictures. And it’s a joy working with these photos in Lightroom. Just got mine a couple days back and I’m not at all regretting it!

I started my Nikon adventure with a D200. Later I made a step up to a D300s. In 2014 I read a review on a new Nikon release and put the D750 in my bucket list. Since then there have been a host of priorities that put a new camera on the someday list. Someday has come and my bucket list contains one less item. The D750 is a dream come true. Being a bit of DSLR dinosaur, I can't imagine ever wanting or needing more. I am smiling a lot lately.

D750 has been my main camera for years. 3 years ago got a D850 primarily for aerial work, but with the new AI editing features, the D750 can do the job about as well. Heck, my D700s upscale very nicely (and quickly) in Lightroom classic, rivaling the standard D750 files. Did upscale the D850 a time or two but realized I'd need a lot more computer. ...and a lot more storage!

I bought my D750 in 2020 with the intention of learning how to use it and also, as a hobby. Then, covid hit and it got put aside. So now in 2024, I have a brand new D750 to continue exploring photography with. Your videos made me pick it back up again because I was going to sell it to get a mirrorless.

I see this camera and I want to buy it, it is about the same price as the Z30 (a used one vs a new one) but I think it is for a long long time. It is the camera that inspire my current D7500 but a little older and with FF... and since the D850 looks to be a loot further away from my reallity, well, this one is just the one for me. I hope I can buy me one before the year ends. THis could be my "only photos" camera and the D7500 my "mostly pictures with some video" camera Thanks for the video

My first Full Frame digital camera. Sadly (for me) sold it on when the Z's came along but can still enjoy the images I created and learned quite a bit about photography with that camera. I think it's not just about the D750 that's keeping it relevant. The new mirrorless cameras caused all the pros to sell their F-mount glass and switch to the new mirrorless mounts. This was further compounded by the Z6 and the Z7 not being as good as the Canon and Sony offerings when they released (most of this was fixed with either firmware updates or the series II versions of the cameras) so then people switched to systems which the F-mount glass was not adaptable to. The market was flooded with expensive F-mount glass and the prices went down. I bought a D500 with grip, 2 peak design straps, a bag, a ton of lenses: 18-140mm DX VR, 35mm f/1.8, 40mm f/2.8 micro, 50mm f/1.4, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 VR, and 200-500mm f/5.6 VR for less than $3000 a few months ago. To buy all of that glass (which isn't even available for Nikon in the Z-mount) for mirrorless would cost at least double, maybe triple.

I have a D750 that I got just last year. It has less than 1000 clicks on it. The original owner had bought it while moving and thought he had lost it in the move and only found it several years later. I got it as I have a wonderful Nikon F4 and several very nice screw drive lenses for that set up and finally decided I wanted a digital Nikon that could use those lenses. The D750 is a natural for me. I'm not a professional but a very serious amateur and so I figured and I think rightly so that the 750 was a better fit for me than a D850 or any of the mirrorless Zed cameras that wouldn't have been able to fully use the lenses I have.

I bought a D750 second hand around 2 years ago, had a low shutter count and I thought it was a great upgrade from my D3300. I use it for family events and to take photos of my daughter in her ballet shows and school activities. It's great to see videos like yours that encourage me to improve my photography with the camera. I have gotten some great shots with the Yongnuo 50mm, still have to find a good zoom, currently I have a Tamron 28-75 and a somewhat sketchy Sigma 70-200 still to be tamed. I was thinking of going mirrorless but don't have the cash right now so will keep playing with the D750 for a while.

My D750 is still going strong, and I'm really happy with the images it produces (not leaving me wanting on image quality). The lenses available now for mirrorless though are so tempting (sharper, smaller, sometimes lighter, and different focal lengths esp. for wide angle) and just aren't available for F-mount. Has me really debating a Z6iii, or a Z8! Or, maybe just a D780 for a minor upgrade.

I have had one since the beginning. Cost per value drew me in. But, the first one took a hard drop and could not be fixed. And after all the research, I decided to get another, while they were still making them new. It does what I want it to do. I shoot a lot of social events, sports and found that upgrading from the kit 70-300 Tamron lens to a Nikon lens of the same specs really upped my game so to speak. Much better focus response for moving targets and better clarity /image quality. Over all image quality is great and battery life is amazing. So, choosing to be cost conscious, why change? Eye tracking would be awesome but I would have to adopt a whole new collection of lenses to go along with an expensive mirrorless camera. For me, a wonderful camera and all that's necessary.

I have had a D750 for a few years and I love it. It produces great still images and is a beast in low light. It is still one of the best astrophotography cameras IMO. I added a D850 to my kit last year for more megapixels and a faster AF, but I was honestly surprised at the lack of improvement to image quality of the D750 (I.e. the D850 was not noticeably better and in some cases the extra resolution is not an asset at all). Now my D750 is my “adventure camera” only because I am forcing myself to use my D850 more. I may sell my D850 to get a Z8 or Z6iii, but I think I will only part with my D750 when my son is ready to use it.

I have the D750 as well as the D850 and have no plans to change. Beyond already having a nice lens selection for these cameras, the ergonomics of the DSLR bodies are perfect for my somewhat larger than normal hands. Additionally, the images produced by these two aging icons are quite satisfactory to say the least. All things considered, I would rather invest the cost of converting to the latest technology into travel with my two old friends.

Well, I disagree with the comments reducing this camera to a budget option only, a cheaper substitute of the real thing. Because it’s definitely not a substitute! It simply depends what you need. I own it alongside with a Z6ii and, being a stills shooter only I can assure you the Z6ii doesn’t provide me any significant advantage over the D750. Yes it’s does have a few more features, but they don’t matter, because I don’t use them.

After finally getting the shutter issue fixed for the 2nd time which took out the sensor on its last failure, we essentialy have a new D750 with a shutter count of 10 sitting on the shelf. We also have a D810 and D850. Time to dust it off the D750 and give it another go.

I have a D750 in 2024. The only (and I mean only) reason I’d get rid of it would be to move permanently to the Leica SL system.

Yes, I still own a D750 with no plans to sell it or go mirrorless. The more I investigate mirrorless, the more I prefer my D750.

Thank you for the effort and sharing. I am an appreciative subscriber. I literally photographed an event this morning and opted for the D750 because the built in flash just added a kiss of fill flash via TTL and that was all I needed. The D750 is often the right tool for the job. Thumbs up.

lets be honest the 5d markiii and d750 are some of the best cameras ever made, simply because they were used by and still are by pro's for so long, made to last

Super video Adrian, as you know I don't shoot Nikon but I think all manufacturers sometimes almost hit the mark perfectly and when a model like that comes along and you happen to have it they hold a certain spot in your heart. I really love my now outdate Sony A6400 and like you with the D750 it would be very hard to part with it!👍👍👌👌

Great video Adrian! Infact I have been watching your other vids as well. Keep up the great work! Last year after using D800 and D7000 for a long time I wanted to buy a mirrorless full frame, but looking at the prices opted for D750 and paired that with Nikkor 16-35mm, 24-120mm and 80-400mm 5.6GVR for an Alpine trip in Europe. The results were stunning and I had no regret of not buying any mirrorless, and want to continue with this camera! So when I found your video totally agree with you!

Great video, thanks. I bought my D750 when they were first released and have used it for professional portraiture ever since. It's never missed a beat and the output quality has never been questioned by my clients. I started with a new D70 when they first came out, then upgraded to D300, followed by a D7100 (all DX) until finally upgrading to the D750 FX. The larger viewfinder alone was a huge improvement and the quality over the D7100 was noticable. I've considered the Z mirrorless range but I can't justify the cost of changing over, considering it's not going to increase my client base or income.

Thanks for watching. That’s exactly right. Clients don’t ask what camera you take photos with. They just care about the quality of the photos which the D750 delivers in spades 👍

Hello Adrian: Late last year I purchased an excellent condition D750 (along with a Mint used D850 [with only 10, yes 10 shutter activations). I did so to back up the D750 I purchased in 2017 and because being so familiar with the camera and for the price paid, the deal was too good to pass up). The D750 was my first FF DSLR after using APS-C cameras and since buying the first one, have never looked back. Like you, I will never sell these two D750s.

In Chile, even a not full frame camera such nikon d7200 are pretty used even at weddings. Full frame d750 as you show is still amazing and affordable for third world countries people like us in southamerica. Versus cell phone photos is a huge gap!

I still own two D750 cameras. My older one has 200k shots and the front dial is now non functional. I still can use shutter speed mode on it or use a manual aperture lens, The image quality and dynamic range is still amazing. Battery life is much better than my Z5.

I’m never selling my D750 and even regret selling my D7200. Even though I have the Z9 and Zf now, the D750 is going nowhere as it is a phenomenal camera and I’ve got some of my favorite shots out of it. Plus I want a DSLR/F mount body that is compatible with older AF lenses. And let’s not forget the pop up flash is there in a pinch.
