I've owned Nikons for 50 years plus and the D750 is my choice for daily use. Rich colors, tone, reliability and when people see the final product vs the cost of a new mirrorless it sells itself. You've done a great service for many users who don't feel the need to jump to "latest & greatest" .... thanks :)

My uncle was a press photographer and had a photo studio in 70s/80s in India… took his old Nikkormat(when he had moved on to other business ) in 1994(light meter wasn’t working I think..but otherwise still hanging on)…in 1996 I landed in US, bought my first N70… then an old Nikon FT from a shop in Santa Clara …then the great F100…the D70s and now the D750…. Only Nikon fans can understand the legacy and the nostalgia …

I also have d750 and it's great camera I bought in used condition for 600$. The only thing I want to have that d750 does not - built-in stabilisation. I use cheap old manual lenses and sometimes it's hard to take sharp photo. Also I dream to have Sony A7S because of outstanding ISO range to make astrophoto with cheap lenses but I don't want sell d750 for it. Maybe someday I will have money to buy a7s as second camera.

Thanks for making this video. I’ve owned my D750 for several years. I felt the “need” to purchase a mirrorless camera and did so 2 years ago. Yet, I find myself using the D750 95% of the time. Told my local photo shop guy the same thing. He asked if I knew everything about my D750 and I told him no. He suggested I master my D750!

A press photographer for over 30 years the D750 is my soul mate. I make an ask of it and it delivers. I've owned mine for 8 years it's been 'hammered' in all weathers, knocked and used daily, it's never let me down. The pop up flash has saved the day and made the picture more than once. Thank you for your considered celebration of a remarkable piece of equipment.

D750 is my workhorse for real estate photography. I don't feel the need for mirrorless upgrade but I do have a Sony a6400 as a walk around camera which is very good. I also have a D810 when I want the best high res image (D750 is much better for low light though).

Got mine since 2015. Still in love with it. Almost feels like a mechanical device, I love the big and clear viewfinder, the grip, and the overall form factor. I did all my photographic city trips with it, many hours every day with many lens changes (I'm using primes only). This thing just is a reliable workhorse. Oh, and thanks to the optical viewfinder the battery is almost impossible to kill, even after days of continuos shooting.

The D750 still going strong! I love it. Yours looks new. The range of photography you achieve with it is phenomenal and the colours are beautiful - you're right. How amazing that there was a little kookaburra in that hole, awesome that it could be brought back and it was so clear.

I'm not photographer, and the pictures and video the D750 take make me look like professional. I bought the camera for the Nikon brand name and pondered on the thought it might be too difficult to use but on the contrary, it's very rookie friendly. I take it every where I go if only not to miss any special opportunity to capture the world as it spins. The colors are magnificent I love my camera.

Wow! I love this video. Thank you. I will go to your D750 playlist. My first interchangeable-lens camera was a D3200 and my second was a D750. After four years, I still love the D750. I gave the D3200 to a friend, but I can't imagine giving away or selling my D750. I purchased a Z5 about a year-and-a-half ago, thinking that I'd set myself in a position to upgrade in the future and participate in the developments and improvements to come. What I have found is that, despite more advanced technology (and the sensor being the same or similar, as I read when I was deciding on the Z5), the D750 is a superior camera. Above all, there is the almost magical ergonomics of the D750. Its fit in my hands, the feel and heft of it, its robustness and the sensation of solid durability when using it add up to a _pleasure_ of using that the Z5 doesn't come near. I have not held a Z9, but apart from that camera, I can't imagine a mirrorless giving the same satisfaction in my hands that the D750 gives. The Z5, with all the newer bells and whistles (some of which ARE improvements, such as the silence of shooting) frustrates me with its limitations at times whereas the D750 still surprises me with its capabilities. As for video, I have found that in static situations, such as light reflected off a stream playing on a rock next to the water or a bird preening on a branch, the video quality can be quite beautiful. In such situations the D750 is not inferior; the point is to catch the beauty, and it does. For wildlife, the Z5 has a lag time in the EVF, and although the lenses respond as quickly or more quickly with it, the D750 is absolutely superior. When I go hiking for birds and wildlife and landscapes, the Z5 is not a consideration. It stays home. Over time I have learned to lead with the Z5, and if I anticipate correctly I can catch a bird or insect in flight, but that is frustrating. The smaller, lighter camera with the more compact lens is ok for walking around town or for travel, but I prefer the quality of images, overall, from the D750. For portraits, the D750 has a je ne sais quoi over the Z5, and it is very real. At my daughter's wedding I thought I'd get better photos with the Z5, and using both, took about two thirds of the photos with the Z5. Every one of the photos that were picked out by my daughter (and by me) as a favorite was taken with the D750. I am an amateur, not a pro, so I still have much to learn about photography, and I feel that with both cameras. But after four years, I feel that I still have a lot to learn within the D750; I haven't reached the end of its possibilities for me. The D750 is a camera for a lifetime. Nikon really hit the mark with the D750, fit and technology. In my hands it feels like an old friend whose company is a pleasure--dependable, familiar, and just right. But with the Z5 I feel frustration. And upgraditis.

It's great to know your view on D750 Adiran ! I bought myself a second hand D750 from a friend in 2020. Previously I used a D7200 but at least on the two aspects I would definitely put D750 ahead of D7200. One is low light, high ISO performance and the other is focussing speed. I would try to upgrade in sometime but I want to keep it. For upgrade , I am stuck between D850 and D780. Mirroeless are still not my favourite despite the lucrative IBIS. Thanks for your valuable views !

DSLR still has its place. If I know I'll need to change lenses in the field I'm always inclined to take the D850 or D5 over one of Z's. Even the sensor shield on the Z9 doesn't totally prevent dust on the sensor and has burned me in travel. The D750 was my first Full Frame DSLR and took plenty of keepers over the years. Sadly, I sold mine when mirrorless burst onto the scene, but your use case makes total sense and the results you are getting are fantastic. So many of the things I sold from the DSLR days I ended up repurchasing later on. I imagine I'll rebuy a used D750 at some point for nostalgia more than anything. Cheers!

Ditto, I upgraded from a d80 years ago to the d750 and love(d) it. Then I upgraded to the d850 and love many of the new features and extra MP’s. When hiking longer distances or doing Astro photography here in the SW (USA), I often default back to the smaller and lighter d750...two features of that camera that I appreciate under certain conditions. At the same time I don’t feel I am sacrificing significant image quality. So I’m with you, not selling it...too many great memories and many more to come!

Hi Adrian, as technology got that good meanwhile, there are a lot of cameras that are able to do the job. Choosing a camera we feel most comfortable with, is indeed a quite good tip. And then we also should ask ourselves: what is the real difference between old and new, actually? Everything that was new will anyway get old with time :) A fantastic video, buddy! I have a Nikon D600 since 2012 and added a Nikon Z5 recently. The D600 still takes great pictures and is fun to use even with the small 50 mm f/1.8 lens and Speedlights (which is also more fun on a DSLR) but the Z5 delivers a great and uncomplicated video experience. I like to use them both depending from if the focus is more about photography or video capture. The FTZ adapter makes this easy to use your Nikon DSLR lenses on both systems. I love the image quality from both cameras no matter if photo or video.

Im in the same boat. Began 40+ years ago with F, F2, FE cameras then to D100, D200. Went Fuji X mirrorless 11 years ago but this past fall went back to Nikon DSLRs with a purchase of a D850 while the price was hot. I am also looking to getting the D780 for the same reasons and general shooting. I Did get the Z5 when it came out but kept on with it to this day because of the IBIS but it is NOTHING like the handle and feel of the DSLR Nikons. The Z5 will be replaced eventually with the D780, and my D850 will be my high-end shooter going forward.
@cbooth2004
@cbooth2004 Жыл бұрын
@@artsilva I agree with your assessment of the Z5. The major advantage is the IBIS. If Nikon came out with a D790 with trickle-down technology from the Z9, particularly in video, and with IBIS, that would be my next camera and I'd thumb my nose at the mirrorless to come, for another few years at least. [A DSLR with D750-like ergonomics and Z-mount would be pretty sweet. :-) ]

Absolutely spot on, mate! I also love mine to bits, it's so versatile. I use it for travel, squash, macro, concerts, etc.. And it does a great job every single time! The files simply look amazing. 24 MP is the sweet spot IMO, especially when you do a lot of low light photography with it, because it excels at that. I’ve been shooting with the Nikon d700 for the longest time. Even shooting paid work with it last year. I love that camera! I’ve semi converted over to the Sony alpha system for its autofocus and video capability. But I still have great Nikon glass and with dslr out of favor now it’s a great time to pick up even more great glass for great value. I ordered the d750 from Adorama yesterday for just under $500 usd. I am excited to fall in love with the next generation of Nikon d7xx! I agree the colors and character of these cameras is fabulous.

Love my D750. Beautiful pictures & colors. Easy to hold due to size & weight. Have had Nikons now for 35 yrs. Lots of analogue cameras (favorite 8008) including F3, FM-2 & 4 others. The 750 & my 8008 are amazing. Favorite lens is my old Nikon 70-200 f4. Still favorite over half a dozen other Nikon lenses & use with the 750 90% of the time. Shoot mostly birds, wildlife & Sunrise/Sunsets. I am not a pro, just love photography. Thank you for your video.

I’m so glad I found your channel, thank you. I have had the D750 for years - resisted upgrading to the 850 because I’m just an amateur and frankly it hasn’t disappointed me. I’m grown up now and can afford the Z8 and have been waiting because of all the hype around Nikon’s lack of auto focus but now that I’m about to do it I 1. Can’t get myself to trade in my 750 and 2 can get myself to take on the size and weight of the Z8. Because I seem to do the same kind of photography you do, my kids are grown up and so sports are over (except the occasional Atlanta Braves or United game), do I really need the stellar autofocus of a canon and now the better 78 - and the speed? I think based on your videos I’m going to get myself a Z7ii and hold off on trading in or selling my 750. I am also going to use the extra to get that nifty 24-120 F4. That and all of the amazing glass I’ve accumulated over the years plus an adapter should make me very happy. Thanks again for your great videos.

Thanks so much for your kind comment. I can afford the new Z8, but I’m not getting it. I think that speaks for itself when people ask my opinion. The D750 will always have that something special image wise. You’ll find the Z7II is very good (I have the Z7) but it has a whole different look to the images in my opinion compared to the DSLRs. The 24-120mm F4 is pretty amazing. I’ve made a couple of videos on my channel on it. Thanks for stopping by 🙏

I have 2 D750s. I bought the first one when they were introduced. For events I prefer 2 cameras/different lenses and bought a second body in 2019.. From time to time I think about moving to the D850 but so far I've always talked myself out of it. I've printed lots of my files, often 12x16, sometimes larger and I'm happy with the resolution. If these bodies keep going I'll be reluctant to 'upgrade'.

Makes perfect sense Wayne. Why upgrade when the cameras are doing the job you need them to do. I think it'll be only until my cameras break I'll look at another camera. But that's just me. Thanks for watching 🙏

I had two D750s and used them while traveling for many trips to Europe but my age and the weight of carrying two cameras and the rest of the kit drove me to M43 which I really like. I sold one but could not separate myself from the lovely photos and the pleasure of using this great camera. I will not sell my remaining D750, just too many great photos from the past and many more to come. Thanks for the reminder of how good this camera is. Frankly, I kept it to help prevent me from buying a mirrorless full frame camera, so far it has worked.

I kept mine when I bought my Z7 and lenses, for many of the same reasons [except video, I've never used it] as you. I find that if I'm going for a long hike I'll take the Z system for its lighter weight, but for short hikes I often take the 750 and 24-120, and that's it. It's like the feeling I had with my D700 -- I kept it for quite a while after I got the 750, but finally my older son wrangled it out of my hands and is now getting good use out of it.

I sold a D800 last year and bought my first D750, the low light performance is outstanding…Just bought my 2nd one. So I can roll one with my 24mm f1.4 and the other with my 85mm f1.4 only 2 lenses a pro needs (I do own a 50mm f1.4 and the 35mm f2.0 but rarely use either), Zooms are for amateurs! Those that know me and my work call me either “The Sniper” or “Lord of Darkness” for my fast lens collection.

I actually just bought this camera last month. Well, I bought one body, that one had an issue with the sensor, even though the site said it was in excellent condition. I sent it back and got a second body and that one works just fine. I got it to be my main camera and my D600 will be my backup camera. I mainly shoot stills, and I find that this camera body works best for me. I have the 50mm 1.8 and I love that one. It was my first non-kit lens. I also have the 85mm 1.8, 105mm 2.8 VR, and the 70-200mm 2.8 VRII. I do want to get a wide angle zoom, but that can wait. I'm focusing on portraits, and boudoir photography. Along with street photography. I plan to jump to mirrorless later this year (saving for it now), but I'm never getting rid of my DSLR bodies.

I'd still get another 750 if i find one with low shuttercount. My dream has always been to own a D850 i love the camera from what i've seen on KZbin reviews and i've worked with the image files before and would love love to own one someday.

I have a D750, when we were in Vietnam recently I had trouble with my camera bag zip, it got difficult to open and close. I was standing in a market looking at some shoes when I heard a loud thunk, and my camera was sitting on the footpath. The zip had given way and the camera fell out. I had the Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens on it and both of them survived the fall and still work perfectly. Not even a scratch. Still takes beautiful clear shots.

I bought the D750 because I couldn't afford the D850 but I have no complaints. As an amateur, it has a plethora of features for me to learn so I can continue to improve, but it's not overwhelming. I get great photos out of it, it's easy to handle for my small hands, and it has never let me down. I feel like it's the kind of camera we'll still be using for a while yet because it's solid and reliable and the tech is still pretty good. I'd love to get the D850 one day, and eventually add a mirrorless, so I have a collection and range of options, but I really can't complain about my D750. But then I've got no comparison, except for an old Olympus film camera from the 80s so what would I know? ;)

I have two D750s. A few years ago, I was using a D810 with a D600 as a backup. I didn't feel my work needed the pixel count of the D810, so I sold it and got a D750. I like it so much that I retired the D600 as my emergency backup and got a second D750 as my second body (both D750s have battery grips). Love them, they just fit my working style, and the size and feel balances the two large zooms that I typically use (24-70 f2.8 and 80-200 f2.8 - Nikkors).

Hello Adrian, I feel the same way. The D750 was my first FF Nikon DSLR body and despite owning a D850, Z9 and a brand new F6 (yes, a film body and Nikon's last), it seems like I grab the D750 first. It still is a great camera, especially as you mentioned, in low light. Another great video that I'm glad you posted.

I agree 100%. What I’d like to know is if I bought another d750 new and put it on the shelf as a spare for the future, would it still be operational in ten years? I simply don’t want an EVF. If they’re not going to make any more DSLR’s, I’ll be ok with what this does for the next 20 years.

Great video Adrian. I feel exactly the same about my A7R3 despite the newer models being released. Like you, it does everything I need it to and the upgrades on the newer models seem more geared towards video or high speed photography, which I don't need. You keep your 750, I'll keep my A7R3, and we'll let the suckers keep spending thousands of dollars 😂.Have a great weekend mate, hope you and yours are well!

Thanks for watching Paul really appreciated. I noticed in a lot of the Sony reviews they still kind of use the A7R3 as a benchmark to gauge some improvements which to me says it was always a great camera to start with. I remember when it was released and I thought wow, hi res and good focusing ability too. I know a lot of Sony users were split between the A7R3 and A7III. But I think you've made the right choice for the type of photography you do and it shows in your shots. Have a great weekend mate, cheers and take care 📸🙏

I own 2 D750's and 2 Z6II's. I purchased the Z6 primarily for video and the aut focus which is phenomenal. That being said everytime I think about selling my 750's something stops me. Then it dawned on me. I recently shot a 90th birthday party with an assistant. I gave her my 750 to shoot with and before I knew it they were both strapped to my black magic harness, and she was using the z6's. The images we captured were fantastic. and as much as I love my Z6's those 750's are workhorses that still deliver incredible images. Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks! Yes, I own a D750 since 2015 now and am quite happy with it. Sometimes a rather slow AF with the 70-200 / 2,8 zoom ... but I know that I will never ever quit using a DSLR, just because I love the sound of the clic plus: I want an optical viewfinder and nothing processed! So: I also won't ever sell this fine tool.

Hi Adrian, I just got a Z50 for its light weight and speed, I love it. But like you I love the D750 so much that I won’t give it up. Agree every bits you said in the video, from the first day it is a good camera for photographer who knows what he needs. Never envy the higher pixels camera, d750 give me what I need, as some said, I if the pictures are not good enough, it is the photographer that is not good enough, not the camera.
