Why so many hate towards 7500? It's neither an upgrade nor a downgrade. It's unique in its own way. If you don't like it then don't buy. Action shooters will really appreciate excellent metering sensor, High fps, awesome buffer depth and lot more. For me as a pure wildlife photographer (I am allergical to shoot peoples) d7500 is more appealing.

3 years in photography. started from entry D3000, moved up to D7000 then D500 and now D5. My shoots are mostly Fashion and events. i wanted to use D500 as my backup camera as iam mostly prime shooter so its a hurdle to change lenses every time. D500 has the best kit lens 16-80(made me move out of prime) perfect for events and studio shoots. always snap 85mm or 105 mm on D5. but not mostly iam using more of D500 as its gives nearly same performance as D5. its lighter to carry. not scared if it drops. D5 scares me to take it into shoots where i might damage it. its not cheap after all. frankly unless ur really into bokeh and capturing exact moment is ur thing nothing beats D5. But when 90% of shoots are casual events and studio fashion shoots D500 is the best choice. its got good focusing system in videos. its got everything most photographers will ever need. perfect placement of buttons. wow D500 is perfect in that section. nothing better than changing settings fast enf without taking eye out of view finder. jut hope next upgrade has a histogram in view finder thats one thing i really dream of. With lots of best wishes to my fellow photographers from India. keep capturing.

That's nearly $1500 of lenses. Don't think I've ever seen the price difference between the cameras that big. Was only $200 between them when I got my D500 last year.

I'm looking to upgrade from an old bridge camera, and whilst I can see that the D500 is superior in almost every way (even the strap fixings...) I was finding it hard to justify the extra cost. I've no desire to becoming a pro, so dual SD card and external grip weren't a big issue for me, but the final decider was when I actually got my hands on one. The D500 is a big heavy beast and not something I'd relish carrying about for a long time (and that was with a small 35mm f1.8 lens fitted). I'm a pretty big guy but the weight of that thing is something people need to consider before splashing the cash. Looks like the D7500 for me (and use the savings on some good glass).

Amer Lodi people have no knowledge about camera. D7500 uses 180k rgb meter which itself is no comparison to D7200, same expeed 5 of that d500, improved iso to D7200. I would agree with single SD card but in 6 years I never had a card failure. Nikon claims that d7500 has image stabilization at full HD. Can you let me know how smooth is the video.

I think it's better to stick to D7500 rather than D500 and spend money for lenses, but I'm not sure in that range, D7500 is the best choice, or I should consider other options like Canon 850D or other models.

I have both Nikon D500 and D7500, in extremely low-light conditions, the D7500 outperforms my D500. When I know I am going to encounter dim-lighting, the D7500 is my go to camera. ETA BTW I think it has something to do with the white light focusing aid on the D7500. The D500 has an infrared system, but when shooting in dim light against a dark subject the D500 refuses to focus, not so with my D7500.

Folks, there are only few advantages D7200 has over D7500 which you can hear over and over again. 2 card slots, 24MP sensor vs 21 MP (which actually means 7% wow what a big deal, many don't get this is good for better video and fps), metering for legacy lenses and battery grip. That's all. Almost every other aspects D7500 is a better camera, much better video capabilities, better processor, better AF, better LCD, better sealing, better buffer and so on. Only problem about d7500 is it's price. It's about $200 more expensive than D7200 but only $200 less expensive than a used D750. So it stands on a awkward point. And don't let haters confuse yourself, there is not a competition between D7500 and D500, the later is about twice more expensive. Even some camera gurus in the comments advise to buy a D800 instead of D7500 because they are about the "same price". Yes, you can find good deals for D800's nowadays but if you put a $250 glass on that beast it will highlight all the limitations. You get a D800 for $900 you better get ready to spend at least twice for glass. Not for a D7XXX body tho. These cameras are for people on a tight budget but some people gives advice like money is not a problem at all. Go get D500! Get D800!! Sure buddy, I wasn't clever enough like you, thank you for the advice.

I'm buying a camera to shoot indoor sports where the light is less than ideal and I need speed and sharpness even with the reach of a longer lens. As my budget is $2000 CAD, I've landed on the D7500 with the 18-140mm f3.5-5.6 lens kit. Do you think this will do the job? or would you advise a better option for the price? I was also considering the Canon 80D...
@BandH
@BandH 5 жыл бұрын
We would recommend the D7500 for a more affordable option with great low light performance. Although, the 18-140mm has a bit of reach, it is not great for low light shooting. The D7500 can be paired with the Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 80-200mm f/2.8D ED Lens, B&H # NI8020028DAQ, which is a very sharp telephoto zoom with a constant aperture of f/2.8 across the entire zoom range. This lens would work extremely well for indoor sports. bhpho.to/2pooiKp

To most people D7200 would be a better choise than D7500 as it will give you slightly higher resolution sensor and higher dynamic range. In contrast to D7500, D7200 also supports dual memory card slots and full compatibility with all Nikon lenses since 1977. This is really important if you want to save money by buying old used lenses. People who need a fast camera e.g for sport or wildlife most likely also need the better ergonomics of D500. The D500 offers more autofocus point that improves tracking on moving subjects. As for video you should know that no Nikon regardless of price have autofocus for video that actually works in real life. If you need that go for Canon or Sony. In essens your choice should be between D500 or D7200. If you don't need the speed of D500 you can save a lot of money that you could spend on better lenses by selecting D7200 instead of D7500. So who is D7500 ment for? Only God knows.

That's my setup right now, a D500 and D7200. To add to your points the D7500 has worse battery life than the D7200. And to have the D7200 top the D7500 again, the D7500 has no setup for a battery grip so for those looking to do sports, weddings and other extended hour photoshoots you will need to either have an external power source hooked up to the D7500 via dummy battery or have a lot of EN-EL15(a) batteries in your pocket.

I agree entirely, the D7200 is a phenomenal camera and plenty good enough for most situations, though the D500 is in a different league altogether, this leaves the D7500 which appears to be sitting in no-man's land, it's too expensive for the average hobbyist but doesn't have the features needed by a pro. Just like Jake, I have the D500 and D7200, they're the perfect crop-sensor combination.
@matthewwells1606
@matthewwells1606 6 жыл бұрын
Uno Engborg Meh. I don't agree, just based on the specs, but I also have some experience shooting both. It's a D5-era camera and it shows compared to the 7200: superior auto-focus and face detection/subject tracking, higher speed, better buffer, better ISO range, better in low light, better image processor, 4k if you want it. To your points, 99% of people won't notice the resolution difference, or the half-stop difference in dynamic range (and I'll be you $10 most clients and professionals would never notice either). And unless you're shooting a wedding, who cares about the extra card slot? I've been shooting digital for 15 years and have literally never had a card fail. Ever. Even when I shoot with two card slots, I set them to overflow, so I might as well be shooting with one. So I think there's a market for this camera: hobbyists/enthusiasts and people who do light professional work who don't want to shell out for the d500, or want a little more than an entry level 5000-series camera will give them. All that aside, it is oddly priced, but I think it'll come down to an cool $1000 by the end of summer. You should check out Thom Hogan's review. It's a better camera than Nikon marketing has led everyone to believe.

This video is a Nikon commercial and not a serious review or comparison. Don't get me wrong but I am a Nikon shooter and there is no way I would ever buy the D7500. Save your money folks and go for D7200 or find the money and buy the D500. The D7500 simply does not offer the essential features these other two cameras have. I think what happened was Nikon created the D5700 camera and then their marketing division got a hold of it and said "You know what? Let's call it the D7500 instead and ask 500 dollars more for it. Isn't that brilliant?".

With the D7500 you are basically getting the D500 guts in a body that is lighter, smaller, easier to carry, simpler, more straightforward, while still retaining durability, weather sealing, etc. Not everyone wants the big, bulky monstrosity that is the D500. Its a fantastic camera to be sure. But, IMO, it was about 4-5 years too late to market. The D7500, too, was late to market. The next D7xxx, rumored as an APS-C DSLR for 2019, will really have to bring fire and brimstone if they are going to compete with the mirrorless options. If it fails, we might not even see a D500 successor in the traditional sense. Basically, the next D7xxx will have to be the same or better than the D500 in its core capabilities, and probably be the last of the (non-mirrorless) APS-C DSLR's that Nikon makes. Really, they should be looking to hybrid-ize it or just switch to mirrorless starting with it (while retaining full 100% DX lens compatibility). Nikon is definitely at a turning point here.

Rubbish. Everyone who has used a d7500 has raved about it. It has the same sensor as the d500 and better iso than the d7200. About the only criticism it gets is that it doesn’t have 2 Ed card slots, but considering that the target market is the enthusiast segment , we can argue that it is not necessary or essential. I would rather Nikon remove it to reduce weight and focus on adding other functionality .

@BandH
@BandH 5 жыл бұрын
If you plan to use the lenses you currently own with your new Nikon D7500 DSLR camera and you will not be keeping the other cameras, then just purchase the body only option. If you plan to keep using your lenses on your current cameras and need an extra lens on the Nikon D7500 DSLR camera, or if you want a longer standard lens for more versatility, then you can go with the Nikon 18-140mm kit lens with the Nikon D7500 DSLR camera. Of the lenses you list, the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 lens would be the best option for both flexibility and image quality, while the Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens would be the brightest and sharpest option, so I would either use the 17-50mm lens for its brightness and constant aperture and optical performance,, or the 18-140mm if you needed the most range in a single lens. The answer would depend on your shooting needs. -+- Manzell L -+-

@BandH
@BandH 6 жыл бұрын
While the Nikon D7500 DSLR camera does not have a completely *silent* shutter, it does have a Quiet Shutter Release which is much lower in volume compared to the standard shutter release. As indicated on page 86 of the camera's instruction manual, you would choose the release mode by pressing the Release Mode dial lock button on the side of the Mode dial, then turn the release mode dial so the pointer is aligned to the *[Q]* setting for Quiet Shutter Release, or *[Qc]* for Quiet Continuous Shutter Release (shoots up to 3 frames per second in *[Qc]* mode). The Nikon D7500 DSLR camera uses an optical viewfinder. You cannot adjust the brightness of an optical viewfinder. If you wish to increase the brightness of the LCD monitor on the rear of the camera, you may press the ** Info button underneath the Multi-Selector dial on the right-hand side of the LCD screen. Use the Multi-Selector to scroll down the menu and select Monitor Brightness, then press the ** right side of the Multi-Selector, then press ** UP or ** DOWN on the Multi-Selector to adjust the monitor brightness. Do note that this affects the Live View only and has no effect on photographs or movies, or on the brightness of the monitor for menus or playback.

Everyone lately likes to talk shit about the D7500, but the thing is it needs to fill in the position the D90 did when the D300 was around, since the D500 is now here. Because of this the D7500 has some things taken away that weren't on the D90 in the first place due to the D300 having precedence over it. Of course, now the D500 is the DX flagship that takes back some features. Also it doesn't make any sense to "side-grade" within the 7000 series, you should be going up the line instead

If you're like me - not an action-shooting professional - and your photography will mainly be landscapes, then the D7500 would be awesome. I've been using it for eight months now and I create great photos with it. But, you can't beat the super-fast focusing system of a D500 which is the same as the top of the line D5. I shoot wildlife too, and with birds in flight, the D7500 struggles sometimes. That's where the autofocus system of the D500 should be better. Bottom line, if you'll only be shooting landscapes, portraits, nature, even wildlife but not small birds in flight, the cheaper D7500 would be more than a good choice. If you want a camera that could do anything you want it to, then definitely the D500. And don't believe all the hate speech from people's comments against the D7500. None of them have really touched one. It's just bad hype and people like to go with the flow. Read as much reviews as possible before making a decision and believe what the experts say about the camera. Here are some good starting point from reputable websites: Comparison between both cameras: - www.dpreview.com/products/compare/side-by-side?products=nikon_d7500&products=nikon_d500 - www.imaging-resource.com/cameras/nikon/d500/vs/nikon/d7500/ - cameradecision.com/compare/Nikon-D500-vs-Nikon-D7500 Extensive reviews on D7500: - photographylife.com/reviews/nikon-d7500 - www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/slrs/nikon_d7500 Reviews from people who actually OWN the D7500, like myself: - www.amazon.com/Nikon-D7500-DX-Format-Digital-Body/dp/B06Y5ZCFHX/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1536099437&sr=8-1&keywords=nikon+d7500 - www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1333060-REG/nikon_nikon_d7500_dslr_camera.html Things to consider in your decision too: 1- The touchscreen in the D7500 works for all menus and all features. Not so in the D500. 2- The D7500 is the newer camera. Released June 2017. The D500 was released on January 2016. 3- I read about people reporting better image quality - less grain - on low ISO in the D7500. And at the end, I based my response on an assumption that you're comparing those two cameras and want to decide. However, you might not be bound to those two, in which case, you have tons of other great options and not only from Nikon. Good luck shopping :)

@BandH
@BandH 6 жыл бұрын
Both cameras listed above would have similar image quality. The advantages the Nikon D7500 DSLR camera has would be camera has a larger lens library, has an LCD touchscreen (the a6300 has an LCD screen, but it is not a touch screen), has better battery life, has a larger buffer for burst images, and has a headphone jack for reviewing audio. The Sony Alpha a6300 has better video autofocus performance, more AF focus points, focus peaking, has the ability to capture slow-motion video, has higher image resolution, and a faster 11 frames per second burst speed. It would also be smaller and lighter compared to the Nikon D7500 DSLR camera. It would come down to personal preference. If you need a larger lens library and better battery life for longer shooting sessions, then the Nikon camera has the slight edge. For lighter weight, and improved AF performance and faster shooting needs (such as for sports or wildlife photography), then the a6300 may be the way to go. Both cameras have similar image quality with color depth, dynamic range, and low-light performance.

tell me boss CANON 5D MARK III or NIKO N D7500?
@BandH
@BandH 4 жыл бұрын
Which camera is better will depend on your planned usage, as both are good cameras and have their benefits. The Canon EOS 5D Mark III is five years older than the Nikon D7500, and the Nikon D7500 does benefit from updated technology, but the Canon EOS 5D Mark III has a larger full-frame sensor. In terms of image quality, the Canon EOS 5D Mark III benefits from the larger sensor by having much better low-light performance in regards to digital noise in the image at higher ISO settings. The Nikon D7500 has much more dynamic range, approximately 2.3 stops of increased dynamic range compared to the Canon 5D Mark III. . Feature-wise and performance-wise, the Canon 5D Mark III has more autofocus points and dual memory card slots, as well as higher viewfinder magnification. The Nikon D7500 has a much faster continuous burst shooting speed (8 frame per second compared to 6 fps on the 5D Mark III), has a larger buffer, has both a built-in flash and a tilting LCD touchscreen (the 5D Mark III has a fixed LCD screen with no touchscreen capabilities). The Nikon D7500 also has built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to wirelessly transfer images from the camera to a smartphone or tablet, and is able to shoot 4K UHD video. . As stated, both cameras have their benefits, and as such, it will depend on your planned shooting usage needs as to which option would be best for your usage.

Is d7500 for wedding photographers?????
@BandH
@BandH 3 жыл бұрын
A D7500 can be used for shooting weddings, but it has less autofocus points across the frame compared to the D500. Many Nikon wedding shooters who use the D500 as their primary camera body might have the D7500 as a back up in this case. It depends on the individual need of the shooter.

The D5500 is actually a discontinued model which was replaced by the Nikon D5600, B&H # NID5600185. The only improved that the D5600 has over the D5500 is the addition of NFC and Bluetooth connectivity. It is a great option for beginners who want a slightly better autofocus system over a model like the D3400/D3500.

As noted in the overview, while the D500 is Nikon's flagship DX-format DSLR, the D7500 is a enthusiast model that manages to pack in many of the D500's pro features in a smaller, more affordable package. The D7500 would cost less than the D500.

I can never understand d7500's place. Its really awkward placement. Its worse than D7200 definitely not its successor. It is inferior to D500 which is aimed at the a professional sports camera. It lacks dual SD card slot so it is not reliable for wedding. (Even though when I shoot weddings I use 8gb of multiple cards rather than 1-2 large SD cards) Right now I'm having so much trouble whether to upgrade to FF, purchase a D7200 or D500. I'm shooting Canon 5DMark III at work but using D3300 for personal work which isn't enough. Trying to find a place for my Sigma 18-35 is really hard right now.

RedNine The 7500 is much better with image quality, iso and video than the 7200. I own both cameras. To say the 7500 is worse than the 7200 is just ignorance. It’s not by any means. Yes, one card slot is tough and stupid but the 7500 has a better AF system, higher fps, and touchscreen controls. When you’re looking just at megapixels it doesn’t always win. The new-er sensor the 7500 has is honestly better compared to my older 7200. This camera gets a lot of hate for absolutely no reason.

major problem with the D7500 is its price zone!!! a bit more gets you a D500! less gets you a D7100/D7200!! if you photograph weddings, you might not be keen on the D7500! that's only got one slot! good luck if the SD card screws up at a special event!!

A lot has changed in 11 months? The D500 is twice the price of the D7500 here in Canada ($2000 vs $1000 on sale). I'm shooting indoor sports - need speed and low light sensitivity, but my budget limits me from getting the D500. Is the 7500 really that bad, and if so what is better for the same price? Similarly priced comparable is the Canon 80D and my research says it's not as sensitive but maybe the autofocus is better???

really not. I do not know which D7500 you tried but the IQ is exactly the same, with a slight edge of D7200 in details and a slight edge of D500 and D7500 in VERY HIGH ISO (beyond 12.800) for noise. differences not visible in any scale if not on editing software. Only real facts is D7500 has 4k and has 1SD card slot. D500 and D7500 seems better output only because the camera algorithm works better the image to show you on the display... and I am referring only to the display. the RAW does not have at all what you said highly better quality than the other is exactly tie or slightly behind. If you only own the D7500 please avoid saying is far better than others sicne you do not have experiences to compare them, this sounds like just a forum talk. Cheers

If you can afford the D500 over the D7500 there is no contest! But if you have to choose between the D7500 and D7200 (the older model) I would totally go for the D7200 better built, 2 SD card slots, and the choice the put a battery grip on it, and 24 MP over 20MP, Just a better camera all around for less money. Many Nikon users will know the D7500 is a downgrade from the D7200

The d7200 is not better built than d7200 lol. The d7500 has a much better low light sensor sacrificing a few MP, better faster AF, tilting touchscreen, better buffer, 4K video, faster processor. You CAN buy a battery grip for the d7500. Who the hell really needs 2 card slots lol I’ve never had a card fail. The d7500 is a side grade, not a downgrade.
