Nikon E8400 - My Thoughts | Interesting Little Camera that takes You Back in Time :-)

To be very honest, I originally bought this camera purely because I find the camera to have a very good looking design! However, I did not know that this camera would also contain so many "factors" that personally didn't really suit my style of shooting. So in this video, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on this camera in hopes that it might help you somewhat if you're looking into this camera! I hope you can enjoy as well as gain something from this video! :-)

I have this camera and the canon pro 1 and I dont see this nikon feeling any cheaper. Is not the Canon plastic also? It shure aint metal, just the lens is heavier. However the battery situation for the EN-EL7 battery is that they no longer exist new from anywhere! This has me trying to open up dead EL7s and retro-fitting new cells from an EL9 type which is still available. Wish me luck.

On en trouve facilement sur eBay mais les batteries neuves n’existent plus (contrairement au 5400 dont on trouve facilement les batteries en neuf…).

its a fun and also capable but slow camera, I like to use it once in a while while walking in town or nature

Pour la construction je ne suis pas d’accord. Cet appareil photo est très bien construit au contraire, bien mieux construit que beaucoup de concurrents de son époque contenant bien moins de pièces métalliques. Oui cet appareil est très lent mais en 2004 souvenez-vous que les reflex les moins chers faisaient entre 1300 et 1500 euros (Canon 300D et Nikon D70) et ne faisaient que 6 MegaPixels…le Nikon D70 était beaucoup plus rapide que le 8400 évidemment mais ce n’était pas du tout la même catégorie et gérer 6 MegaPixels en APS-C c’est plus facile que 8 sur un tout petit capteur et avec en plus un CPU évidemment moins performant pour que le prix soit moins élevé…Le 8400 était plus lent que certains concurrents directs également mais tous les compacts étaient lents, et tous n’avaient pas le RAW…J’utilise souvent depuis un an un 8400 acheté 40 euros sur eBay et je le trouve finalement suffisamment réactif, l’AF est correct notamment, et la latence au déclenchement n’est pas exagérée. Par contre l’écriture de la photo RAW ensuite prend plusieurs secondes mais ce n’est pas dérangeant si on ne souhaite pas mitrailler et au contraire réfléchir entre chaque photo…
