This is the best tutorial I have encountered. Cudos! Being an old timer coming from film photography, I was totally alienated with all the processing tools. In fact, I just shoot in jpg and save the results. This tutorial has helped me a lot to understand the use and benefit of processing the photos after the shooting.

My friend I have been a Nikon shooter all my life... I am 65 today, so, I have been Nikon since my grandpa' gave me a Nikon FG in 1984 when I graduated from University in PR. By the way, that camera and lenses still with me today and still shooting my film from time to time... But also have a D500, D750 and Z50 with all the necessary lenses for each camera.... and in all these years I have used NX Studio only few times, I use Photoshop almost all the time, lately I purchase Affinity Pro, but thanks to your video, I have come back to the NX Studio and updated to the latest version.... I have been using it much more now and have to THANK YOU FRIEND....

Your review is spot on. The other reviewers just gloss over NX Studio and point out the negatives. They also stumble over the tools meaning they never really learned to use this software. Most of all they totally overlooked the value of Picture Controls feature. Other expensive software that you mentioned, strips away the Picture Control settings and you literally have to process your photo from scratch. A real pain. Thank you for a truly honest review.

Most "Well-known" KZbinrs don't praise free and good photo editing softwares. Because, they are free. Free = No Commission. The Picture Control is revolutionary. Its crazy that it's free. Good luck. 😊

Absolute great tutorial !!!! Best in the net right now. Lightroom 6.14 has quited on my MAC no download possible for my purchased download licence and so I will never touch Adobe again even if I have to retag 20+k photos now. Guess Nikon really tries to gain market share with this software freebe - great. One question I have for the expert: How can I filter on ALL photos of a directory including all sub directiries? (like hitting "All photos" first in Lightroom and then set the filters) Thanks man. I have subscribed certainly.
@Light_Camera_Story3 жыл бұрын
First of all, thank you for your kind comments and Subscribe. Not just nikon, many camera manufacturers are moving towards different direction. For example, Fujifilm was the first camera company that moved to cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry during the end of the era of Kodak vs Fujifilm. Nikon is also pushing its Optics business for Reading glasses, like Zeiss. Olympus is already dominating medical microscope business, Pentax is trying to change as well. So, it's not Surprising that Nikon is trying to be like Blackmagic. Offer high end software for free to grab hardware business. About filtering questions, I tell you what I do, and take what you can from it. Now, I am old school. I have folders made with Year. Then Month. Then Event or Location. Then each image are renamed with Location or Event + Y-M-Day. Most are done my myself. I also use Photo ExpressViewer software for batch renaming. Then i edit. Let me know if it helps. As you can see, I am old school.
@martinmuehlhoff44043 жыл бұрын
@@Light_Camera_Story Thx Treasure, am old school too. Yes I am also organizing in folders just to be on the save side. But I would like to use the stars and color labels in NX Studio - and therefore would like to filter across a folder AND all including its sub-folders in NX Studio. In LR you choose "all photos" and then set your filters and then get the filtered photos for all folders and sub-folders all together. And I like that. My work around now: In MAC finder I create and store search folders which look for different file formats and abbreviations I include in the photo`s name. NX View offers a great filtering tool too (not mentioned in your video) when you hit the filter and then the little triangle under the index view bottom. So there is that great tool but you have to apply it to each folder separately? Tough to believe, I think... Have a nice weekend! BTW: I saw you traveled Europe B&W. Wonderful. Guess I will find a couple of good photo spot ideas there. Am from Cologne and so in close distance.
