For the price, it's an absolute steal considering the optical performance on offer.

Sharpest thing outside a Plena

This lens is awesome for car photography 📸 you can get portraits and macro close ups that are clean and sharp. Combo it with the 50mm Z f/1.8 for the interior/ engine shots, and it's a 2 lens powerhouse. It's all i mostly ever use. The only other lens i bring sometimes is the Nikon 135mm f/2 DC... (if we have a ton of room to shoot) which i have to focus manually on, but it's really no big deal at all. Now that lens.... sheesh, that's where those magazine cover money shots come from. Forget the $2,500 plena, this lens is the $500 king. If I'm shooting on my DSLR that day, that lens is coming for sure. I still use DSLRs. Arguably more than mirrorless. So it's good to have plenty of options.

Man I would love a 135 lens. I did see there is a 135 1.8 LAB from Viltrox coming soon. I might look into that if its a decent price.

@@MannsWoodlandPerspective that DC lens and the Nikon 28mm f/1.4 D are the sole reason I kept my D850 . Until someone makes a F to Z adaptor with an autofocus screw motor, I'll still be on DSLR specifically for those 2 lenses. An honorable metion for the Nikon 85mm f/1.4 AF-D. To get current Z glass that's that darn good I'm gonna have to spend at least 5 or 6k minimum and Nikon doesn't even have a Z 28 f/1.4 🤘

It definitely has good attributes (especially sharpness and weight), however even tho I use it a lot, it is not a love affair. For flower close ups I find it hard to use and it produces weird bokeh at a certain distance. Might well be user error, but I found other macro lenses way easier to use and render more pleasantly. For me even the 70-200S produces more pleasant pictures for close ups (of course I can't get as close, but still). Anyways, I try to improve with this lens and will continue to use it a lot so maybe one day I will be satisfied. Thanks for the video!

@@martinhild thank you! I've had the Sigma 105 EX for about 5 years of macro practice. This one is so far superior in every way.
