Nikon Z5 Review: A Z-Series Mirrorless Camera for the Masses?

This may be a dumb question but does this camera not have a flash? I’m new to this whole photography thing and know some of them have a separate thing to connect but didn’t see anything.

A lot of higher end cameras typically won't have flash built-in as the manufacturer expects people to have auxillary lighting or a nicer attachable flash.

@@djdoc06 My Nikon D810 has a built-in flash. FYI, some people like having an on board flash to use as a trigger. There, now I trolled you back😜😁.

@@djdoc06 I'm not disagreeing with you(on this one). Are you taking into consideration that the bulk sales are likely from the amateur to semi-pro photographers? Remember that the D810 came out during a time when alot of people were trying their hand at being a professional photographer. This is all speculation on my part, but I think it makes sense.

24-50 lens is worth it? Or such 28-70 kit lens on sony?

It comes with a C battery, which can be charged in camera, as well as being charged with the power on. I also have a B which can be charged in camera, but CANNOT be charged with the power on.

Thank you for the review! They have been out such a short amount of time there's not a lot of hand's on reviews yet. Using SD cards is a big plus. I hate buying XQD cards.

Like this camera a lot, but it's simply not worth around 1400 quid for the body alone. When it drops to about, say, 900 quidish , then I'd buy one. Stills side looks excellent, the video side not so good, but then again ,video doesn't interest me at all and I have a mobile phone for that already.

The custom dials give you 3 custom options for stills, and 3 for video, total 6. I feel the host has really a poor understanding of this camera. One of the worst reviews I've ever seen.

@@simonskinner3591 As a higher being, I can confirm that sentiment. However, I think what Mr. Geek wanted to say is, the public deserves accurate reviews. If that means spending 2 or 3 months with the camera before posting, then so be it. I feel that most people would appreciate/respect that a bit more. No need to rush things to keep up with others. OR the video could be titled slightly different "Nikon Z5, Initial Thoughts" with a full review to come.
