Helpful. Especially the tidbit on setting up the preview and viewfinder zoom on specific buttons. Thanks

Excellent video, I just really wish that Nikon would implement the same dual display focusing that is found on the Fuji X- line of cameras. It is very helpful to have a screen displaying the actual composition with another smaller display zooming into the focus area for critical focus. The Z bodies surely have this capability since The Z6, Z7 and newer bodies already have a split display for focusing on two different parts of the image.

Just a quick tip to add. When you use the magnifying glass to zoom in, as long as you get your focus point where you want it in the composition, you don't have to zoom back out to take the picture. Get the composition and focus point right, zoom in, acquire focus, and take the picture with it zoomed in. We usually feel like we need to zoom back out to check the composition but we don't have to as long as the focus point is in the right place. You'll find that it works and becomes twice as enjoyable to manual focus using that method.

It is a good point! Thanks for sharing! I don't know why I feel like going out again after focusing. Maybe I just lost my confidence in my framing while zooming? Anyway, thanks for the tip! Will give it a try! 🙂

@@frederikboving We all do, I only figured it out from playing and experimenting, then had a light bulb moment lol. Moving that focus point into position ensures the framing. I also realized that zooming back out can throw the focus off from camera shake from pushing the button. Happy shooting!

@@frederikboving hey another good video Fredrick but is there any way you can test this with a manual lens with a dandelion chip on like a voightlander or.zeiss?
@frederikboving Жыл бұрын
@@illegalmindset4122 Thank you for your suggestion! I do not have neither a voightlander nor a zeiss lens, so it is a bit difficult for me to do. If I get across one of these lenses, I will get back to you of course!

i think the screen/red square is the most helpful. thank you. i had a fuji x pro1 and focusing manually with that was a headache. i focus and recompose with my dslr. so i think the green square will be fine

I have my camera 5 or 6 ft away on a tripod and do not know when recording is happening. The app is terrible and the remote control is terrible as well as every time you turn the camera off you have to resync everything to use them. Is there a way to have the little light in the corner blink or whatever when recording is happening? I bought the Viltrox 550 Plus external Monitor and that does not display HDMI information only a clean output.

Sorry, I don't use my Nikons for video recording so I am no expert in these matters. Maybe you can flip the rear LCD down so you can see the status info and hence if it is recording?
@mattcero18 ай бұрын
@@frederikboving nah, the lcd can't be viewed from the front.
