You had me at "Kristi Odom", who is my favorite wildlife photographer. Mike Mazeul III is of course, excellent too. Both are world-class, and I'm pleased to learn a bit more about the Z8. (I have a Z9 and love it!) Thank you Michael, for being such a great host.

Just watching this one professional interview video is enough to purchase and shoot with Nikon Z8 for sure! Thank you

Thanks, folks. Love the video. As someone considering large purchases, what I’d like to see on this video are the shooting specs overlayed on the footage: what were the shooting specs such as distance from animal, lens, focal length, ISO, aperture and shutter speed on each sequence? Was the shot handheld or supported? This gives me more salient information to make a judgement for purchases. Cheers

Ok, so this is the Z9c (c = compact). Why don't they call it that and that's it. As for this being the camera that will make D850 owners switch, the question is: why would I want to spend £4k / $4k to get better autofocus and not much else (compared to my D850s), aside from video capabilities -- which in my case I could care less about?

I’m still a D850 shooter that do not shoot video at all but I can see a ton of features that I would get with the Z8 that I don’t have in the D850: the IBIS system will give me great stabilization with all my f-mount lenses that lack VR, including some of my favorite vintage Ai-s lenses that I adore. The much higher frame rate will be very welcome when I shoot birds in flight, for instance. The vertical flip-out back-screen will be super useful when I’m on the ground capturing birds or macro images. The usb-c power connector will allow me to connect to dedicated power-banks and save me from the worry about running out of power when I’m on long hikes or away from a power outlet for many days. Also, the lack of a mechanical shutter can potentially mean that the life-span of Z8 (and Z9) will be much longer than my current DSLR? And let’s face it, the evolution of the AF system have come a long way now and will make life a bit easier even though we may be skilled and experienced users that knows every trick in the book to bring sharpness with any old lens and camera. There are tons of situations where these new AF systems will get us the shot that was almost impossible to get in the past. Especially with the new pre-exposure function we find in the Z8. Capturing a lightning strike is a great example when that function can be used effectively. And the best of all, the Z8 will get me into the Z-mount ecosystem of outstanding lenses when I finally shift over from the DSLR world. I still don’t know how I will feel about not having an OVF to look through yet. But I can see the advantages that an EVF bring and I have heard that the EVF on both Z9 and Z8 are some of the brightest and clearest on the market right now. So maybe that is not such a big deal either? The arguments to stay with the DSLR are getting pretty slim now. Even for me, being such a slug when it comes to upgrading my gear. Sure, we can get a second well kept D850 on the used hand market for less than half the price of a Z8 and I might go that route for another year or two? But to be honest, even to me the Z8 and Z9 both got such compelling qualities that I have no doubt I will end up with one of those, eventually. If it hadn’t been for the outstanding qualities of the D850 I would have given up DSLR much earlier. Also, I have only heard from one source that Nikon have actually introduced a new sort of extended Dynamic Range standard raw file in the Z8. Not much information have come out yet about this and it seems like only Nikons own software is currently able to utilize this new expanded form of Dynamic Range. I hope we will soon hear more about this. It can potentially be a very interesting new improvement for us nature, art, architecture and landscape photographers?
