Nikos Vertis ( pronounced like Vairtees and in vair as in fair and tees and in Golf Tess . Greek music called Rempetiko was the first blues brought to the U.S. in the late 1800’s . The wind instrument is the Klarino or Clarinet . Our main Instruments are Klarino, Bouzouki, Laouto and Outi. If you would like to hear one of the all time great Greek Singers it is Giorgios Dalaras ( In Greek Γιώργος Νταλαρας ) He not only sings Greek Traditional music Rempetika as well as modern. he also sings not only in Greek but in Spanish, Italian as well has Turkish and Hebrew as well as in English with Sting and other international singers. Very happy that you like Greek Music.

The Greeks use one word the English language would need to use several words to describe the meaning. But you sir did well translating 🫡Try listening to Byzantine Music.

It's a clarinet rather than a flute. Certain styles of Greek music are very similar to American blues like Bessie Smith and many others. Greeks were under the Turkish-Ottoman rulers for 500 hundred years and suffered tremendous hardships. Greeks have music with tremendous and deep pain.

Think that most of Greek music is like the Blues. You know, my girl left me, my dog died etc. Greek love songs are especially deep as Greeks have a tendency to love hard.

The sound is on "E" instead of the "I" and the title of the song is "THELO NA ME NIOSIS" = I want you to feel me (emotionally speaking. Not physically). Another great and romantic song of Nikos VErtis that has been performed by another artist in Arabic is "AN EISE ENA ASTERI" = IF YOU ARE A STAR. You can check it out FYI. It is a very beautiful and sweet song, much better than the one on this video.
