You haven't heard a real p5 horn until you've seen an old ex southern railway locomotive

Love the Nathan P5 horn action here! These P5 horns really have that "Late 70s/early 80s" Southern Railway sound. You can hear the little air tweet as he blows for crossings. I guess it's no guess to anyone in the know that the GE leader is a former Southern Railway locomotive...and I guess it's gone by now. Great views and super, super horn action! This one definitely goes in my Nathan P5 playlist.

I'm planning on getting this type of horn for my Ford Super Duty Power Stroke 7.3 Pick-Up Truck!

I have one! Nathan P5 new cast; this one is a mixed cast P5 and from a distance you'd almost mistake it for a K5LA. The little tweet you hear when the engineer blows the horn is characteristic to all P horns.

True down home railroading the way it supposed to be...an aging set of Ge's trundling coal cars through rustic backwoods Georgia country over miles of grass covered track. All this experience needs is a REM or Jerry Reed song playing in the background.

Very cool! Used to see those old U Boats pushing trains up Duncan hill west of New Albany back on the Southern and later NS. Glad to see they're still running and not scrapped.

I model the Central of Georgia in HO gauge. It's impossible to fine CofG coaches or any kind. Also cannot find an E-8 in the CofG livery for the "Nancy Hanks" or the "Man O War." The Central of Georgia was purchased by Southern Railways in 1963, and Southern was purchased by Norfolk Southern in 1982. Cheers from an ex-Georgian in eastern TN

@stlgevo51: The trackspeed is all 25 mph so they were going pretty close to that. The SW1500 came from G&W's rail link operation in Savannah, they are so powershort the SW1500 had to be put online!

The chugging GEs were already nice but the buzzing EMD made this much better

This my favorite style of the Nathan P5 Horn, for what the Southern Railroad, had used.

At the start of the video there are 3 ge's and an emd.... then there are 4...what's the story there? Great video and keep up the good work.

That train was going fast for the track it was on. I didn't think the Georgia Central had any EMDs. Where did that switcher come from?

Actually that SW1500 is getting painted in the G&W paint scheme. Great video as always, like and favorite.
