Faaabulous book!!! :-) Fun fact: when I landed in my chosen home ten years ago I learned that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle went to school here in my small provincial town, not far from my house, long before he dreamed up Sherlock Holmes. It's a conserveratory for music now and it was a very posh school back then, with rich parents' offspring from around the world. Little Arthur played in the school's brass band and wrote for the school newspaper. May well be that he got some inspiration for his famous detective here. Well, that's what we like to think at least. ;-)

Wow! You out did yourself this time, girl! You are a kick. For your course. "How do you keep your ribbon closurers (sp?) from tearing pages?" I did a closure with ribbon on one of my first books I gave as a gift. I had to tell my friend to be careful with it because it was fragile. I never made one like that again.

I didn't know about you or your work until recently. I truly wish I had seen this book when it was on ebay. I love Sherlock Holmes! I have read every one of his stories, some more than once. I'm sure that the book sold for a good sum of money, it's worth it! I've been watching all your videos and the door series is my favorite so far. I have a lot to watch yet so that might change. I've always loved books and creating them has been something I've wanted to do for a long time. I will be taking some of your courses!

WOW!! Your attention to detail in this one is off the hook!! Even digging the crime scene photos!! So much inspiration here! Your Tomes are so unique, I can't believe that you're sharing your technique, but then again, I can, you're much too nice. Some aren't going to like me for saying this, but in my humble opinion you should charge for that course, even if it's a small fee. These books set you apart from the rest and like you said it helps pay the bills. Good luck on the auction, it seems to be doing well so far, very exciting!!

Have been catching up on your videos and I must say this was a great one to watch first! The attention to detail is amazing- that magnifying glass and locket..loved it! Even though Im not familiar with the sherlock homes legacy I know he would be proud :) As for the booksmith tomes video classes I say OF COURSE! I know everyone would support and appreciate to learn how you build your covers, and the best part is that it would be in video form! Perhaps now I can try my hands at creating a book from scratch, can't wait to sign up :)

I would like to know your techniques for tea or coffee dying, how to engrave the brass plates for the front, what type of paint or dyes for the fabrics used to cover the shapes, where to get supplies for metal pieces etc.. that you use on your journal covers. Those are topics I would want covered. Thanks so much.
