Another good tutorial upload with your unique personality and detailed instructions. Your humor keeps these videos entertaining but at the same time folks could actually learn from you. Clear audio and good camera angles too by the way

If there is trimmed grass on either side of you such as a narrow path or sidewalk, you can also use it to drag stop on. This will save your wheels and can slow you down faster. One should first master the regular drag first of course.
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
Yep, you're right. Grass stop is also a good option

Nice tutorial, Dude, well presented. The stop with many names indeed! I always go with drag-stop as mine rarely resemble a T. True, it is a bit of a wheel killer, as most stops are; you can help even things out by switching sides frequently, which also evens out muscle / joint use.
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rich! Yeah, you're right, I forgot to tell about the changing of the sides.

Can this also be done by getting in scissor position first then turn your feet to the t stop position?
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
Yep, of course. Just don't forget to put more weight on the front foot and that will be ok!

The stopping distance is too much with higher speeds. How to do a quicker stop with the quick turn, Instead of powerslide?
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
That's a question for another big video. You won't be able to make a quick sharp turn on a very high speed. It anyway should include some element of sliding to be effective. You can watch my slalom turns tutorial, it includes some info in it . Technically most effective types of stops are two feet slides, like magic and parallel. Powerstop is also useful but it usually requires a small period of t-stop before it.

Hi mate, it's me again.. it is so hard to t stop without turning. Do you have any tips for the back foot?
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
Well. In fact all of the tips that could help you are already in the video. The main is about less than 90 degrees between the feet. I think you just need more practice. If you want you can send me a video of your t-stop to my Instagram @nikzvi and I will look and comment..

When I do the T stop, it tends to turn me in a circle. My leading leg is not normally on outer edge but center. I think that may be the problem. I will give that a try and see if that fixes my problem. I like your light hearted vidoes. Keep up the good work! :)
@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
Usually turn is caused by not proper angle of a dragging foot but the edge also could be a problem. It could be center edge but it's very easy to accidentally move from center to the inside so it's better to keep it always outside.

T-stop it's exactly what advanced skaters must avoid! It kill your wheels and have long way to complete stop. You all must replace it with soul slide, which is more effective!
@NikZvi5 ай бұрын
Advanced skaters do not avoid t-stop, thay just use it when and where it is applicable. First of all t-stop is not the move for full stop, it is a way of speed control (the soul also btw). For full stop it is much better to use two feet stops like parallel, magic, powerstop or at least powerslide. Second there are certain conditions in which only t-stop could be used for speed control, for example on gravel, on cobblestones, on some types of tiles, or on the narrow tracks where there is not enough place for other techniques (the heel brake can do the same but nonone uses it). Even the perfect soul ( and there are not too much people who can casually make a perfect soul) requires more place to perform than t-stop. yeah it kills wheels, but soul also does, parallel does it twice size. It is great to have other techniques but anyway T-stop is an essential technique that any begginer should master. And plus it's easy.

@NikZvi3 жыл бұрын
