Avoid following this method of cutting a jackfruit; stick to the traditional method. For a change, i had followed the method shown in the video, today. VWhat seemed to be very satisfying in the beginning, soon turned out to be a huge headache. The cleaning part of the small individual pieces of the fruit is super time consuming in this method.

jackfruits are classified as of two general types: 1) Koozha chakka, the fruits of which have small, fibrous, soft, mushy, but very sweet carpels; 2) Koozha pazham, more important commercially, with crisp carpers of high quality known as Varika. We can peel koozha chakka using this method, not koozha pazham.

@sophia wallace It depends. The ripe one is sweet but a different type of sweetness; also aromatic. They sell canned or bottled ones, mostly in Oriental stores, if you want to just try it first. If it's unripe, you cook it like a vegetable. It will not be sweet. We cook it with meat and shrimp with coconut milk.

Excellent method. I went to the farmer's market yesterday and purchased two jackfruits. Now, I purposely purchased an unripened one and a ripened one. This method worked like a charm on the ripened one. Unfortunately, it didn't work on the unripened one. I actually prefer jackfruit unripened. I'm talking picked right off of the damn tree. Texture-wise, it's smoother and it's a little sweeter. Both are delicious, but unripened is where it's at for me.
@Dee_Cee2275 жыл бұрын

@kantabhanderi5 жыл бұрын
LaChele I also prefer it less ripened. Don’t like the texture of the fully ripened ones. And the taste is different too. Not as tasty. I like ripened but not fully or really really soft. Needs to be slightly hard. Just a touch.
