For your power when the turrets all shoot, you could grab 10 or so accumulators and throw them in some odd gaps in your base to utilize otherwise unused space. They would passively charge, and help bridge the power deficit gap when all of the turrets fire.

The Accumulators got a pretty significant boost in the dark fog update which I think they did to make them useful for protecting shields and weaponry from power spikes.

Very useful for assaulting a planet if you arrive with some charged and ready to be part of a blueprint where they keep the beachhead going until sustainable power is running at which point they can sit as a buffer for the spikes from combat

Yeah, for me they solve the constant problem of my energy receivers not being able to receive energy from the sun sails. That way, I can cover the gap between night and day.

14:53 pretty sure the swarms attack the nearest signal tower (if there are any) and since you put yours at the edges of your tower wall, it looks like they're trying to go around

Yes, they get drawn in by the Signal Towers, he should only built ONE heavily defended Tower and the Fog will suicide swarm it

Wow nicely done Nilaus! It's funny how that tactic you're using is really just a highly specialized form of "Turret-Creep" tactic from Factorio. I've used that quite a bit in taking out biter bases! Great to be done with the DarkFog infestation on your homer planet! Now you can really focus on branching out and r3eally setting up a good manufacturing base to be able to produce all the stuff in volume to take the next planet in your system! Great action and good tactic in eradicating DF! Thanks for this Nilaus!

Nice episode. I found w taking planets, the first is the hardest. After that I set up an unpowered missile battery and signal network and power it when I am ready and take them all out at once. Works like clockwork. Best method I have seen. Your planet/solar relay network does really well. Only problem is once a solar panel is laid down the attack timer starts up and it is a race to lay them down to power up the grid to fire. It will load the ammo unpowered, so that isn't a worry, at least. I have used a signal network with relay towers to set up the signal tower coverage too. I haven't made an efficient bp for that yet. For the space hive I tech up with a space fleet and do strafing runs around the parameter keeping my mech at speed and outside the battle space. I have planeside recharge points and a large back up fleet in inventory. It works but leaves the hive removal for late to end game. I have found no reason to agro the space hive early, so I don't. Even when I resource other systems I don't bother with the space hive and just take the planet. As long as I don't start the dyson sphere it doesn't really care.

There is a bit of mk1 belt between glass and prisms, which makes the sorting belt stutter

Not sure if that was mentioned before or not. But signal towers do attract dark fog, and you have a signal towers at the edge of your base, maybe having a one more signal tower in front would solve the problem

Im doing this run myself. My approach was to pocket craft the first few techs and setup my starting turret line and crafting befor powering it all up. They almost instantly attacked when the base fired up but i didnt care as i was plunking down yhe rest of my starter infrastructure while they got chewed up. I stanilized things with missle battery, built up more and then surounded their bases with laser turrets and put up a planetary shield. Just left yhe bases on farm as i teriformed my starter planet, goty mall going strong and got mass factories built.

I would say the most difficult has been done, now will be "easy" normal build. I was also wondering why don't you use your own inventory for research. I find it helps accelerate the research, unless your research centers are not fully loaded. I also fixed the power peaking issue with batteries...

not really, now the hives are getting threat, meaning he will have to deal with attacks from space, and they are devastating without planetary shields.

@@danilooliveira6580 Any attack from the Hive is a long way off unless he provokes them or gets into swarm/sphere stuff. So yes, really. Basically a normal game from this point on, plus the brief grind of clearing out a new planet from time to time.

I wouldve recommended bring some of the gun turrets and some ammo for them for defending the signal towers while waiting on the missiles to arrive. It atleast helps with some of the chaff

I actually kept one of the bases and surrounded it with laser turrets right at the edge where they shoot spawned units immediately but keep the buildings intact. That base is gaining exp like crazy, it's already level 15 and dropping all sorts of nice stuff. The alpha space hive doesn't like it very much though, good thing I had a planetary shield when it decided to send 15 raiding units at my planet.

that 3000% multiplier from playing these settings on scarce seems too juicy to pass up. I'm gonna do a run like this, but first I'ma do math to figure out exactly how many resources I need to get each tech and figure out how long it'll take to get each tech from that. From there I can plan out some stages, optimizing which techs to get when for maximum speed so I can zoom through the early stages of the game and get the fog under control and set up to be farmed early before those patches run out. Most importantly is figuring out what all is needed to get to space and onto other worlds so the much richer planets in the starting system can be tapped before the first runs out. Have a pre-set sphere blueprint so I know exactly how many resources I'll need for it and so know how many planets I'll need to mine out.

Damn, didn't knew about the storages that can be put above splitters... This is... Interesting. And I have around 200 hours in this game 😂 A game changer for me are the signal towers together with rocket towers. Currently, all my ballistic turrets use the MK.III ammo and my rockets are the supersonic ones. It's incredible how effective these are. But once you've got the big guns, it's mayhem. 😅

There are really no reason to put so many signal tower in such close proximity, they only go for the closest one and once you print the target, all you need to do is delete the tower before they were destroyed and the print stay on.😂

All the DF units happily fiing for you, are you really Sure, a bunch of Thermoelectric, burning their shards would not help you get rid of a couple of dozen of Wind turbines? I perdonally think, they drop annoying ly much of that stuff. Also, if you dont just Block Pick up of the useles stuff, the woods and the plants, why do you stockpile them? Why not do a "thefmic Recycling" aka burn them away for energy. Evrn im reality burning waste for energy instead of stockpiling it is a thing.

It's an effect applied to the planet ground/space boundary. I've noticed it applies onto elements it should not. I believe it's just a fx bug the Dev's haven't fixed.

Why don’t you filter out useless stuff like plants and wood? What do you even use it for past 10 minutes into the playthrough? And stuff like prisms is pointless to collect because their only purpose this early in the game is to build into plasma exciters, which drop frequently from DF
