Nilaus, I know that these Foundry videos aren't getting as many views as DSP or CoI (both games I love), but I wanted to thank you for continuing to make these videos. I've been playing this game very casually and your videos have helped me figure a few things out here and there.

3:36 Tip for the next time: disable snapping (x) 5:45 The only downside of piping fracking liquid so far is pipes volume. You'll store a lot in these pipes. 14:17 I think devs either decided that 5 is enough and forgot to adjust the throughput. Or, and that's more likely, 5 per miner is a placeholder until they release more content related to olumite. Maybe it will become renewable or something. Right now it runs out really fast just from research and robots. And we don't have any warnings when something runs out. 15:07 Your mining research affects them. They cap out at 300 per minute, though. That's mining efficiency 9. The cap comes from carts transporting items from the drill to the output. Unfortunately, they are not just a decoration, so level 10 won't grant you expected 320 ore per minute. 18:00 You can connect buffer chest to the pad with more belts, though. This won't help much on a really long-distance transportation, since there's charge time that depends on the distance. Any delivery over 1km take way longer to charge than to load. -_-

I enjoyed the game, also look forward to what they add in the future. I agree with the clunky 'inserters' needing a change. One minor thing I would like is a blast circle representation. I never fail to think something is out of range... then blow up 10 machines while tunneling under stuff. Maybe cluster bombs for clearing trees that do no damage to ground. And.... TRAINS !!!!!! because no factory game is complete without trains.

Personally, I went to mods and I really like some of them. For example, FastMiner mod that speeds up hand-held mining tools. With it, mining laser feels really satisfying to use. It's still somewhat clunky and can't mine multiple blocks at once, but at least it's in ok-ish-fun territory instead of how unbearably sluggish it is. Especially on low layers near the bedrock. And then there's Duplicationeer. That's fully functional blueprints feature. Select, copy, paste, save, load, mirror, repeat, automatically build from items in inventory, continue unfinished build, deconstruct or destroy obstacles like ground, trees and rocks before building, and so on. The latter could be used for precise tunneling, even though that's not the intended application. Explosives are fun, but when you want to remove a mountain, bombing it all the way to the ground level takes a loooong while. Leveling it with a few hundred elevators is an option, but manually configuring every one of them is awfully boring and only marginally faster than nuking it with explosives. At least you get a flat surface out of it.

I would love to see a modular caster that also requires water in addition to the molten metal and produces several lanes of metal plates, rods, etc. Same with the whole oil chain. Imagine modular buildings in the style of a Captain of Industry refinery chain. Same base building, different addons and inputs depending on processing stage. Lots of potential here. Then the only question that remains: what to do with all these resources?

I hope you continue this, would love to see a good video from you on the data cables.. and also have liquid transport ships now, so could use that to carry the fracking liquid

It needs to be much easier to tell where you should be placing pumps when making long pipelines. In Satisfactory, when you have pumps equipped, you can actually see where headlift limit points are located. We need something similar for Foundry.

I'd like to add my signature to the petition for an episode regarding slag processing. Nilaus once said: "I don't need a tutorial, because I am the tutorial." In order for this to remain true, we need a slag processing tutorial. Thank you.

I had so much Fun in this. But yeah there are some things they need too Fix: 1. Long Range Transport: Caego Ships arent rly a Option for long Range because they are too Big too Build many of them, and they are Way too Slow. So you end UP with Miles of Belt Bridges what isnt rly Fun too Build. There is a great need for something like Train which they said they are Working on. 2. Olumit: One and Only Thing that isnt Endless. In a Mega Base you Drain a Olumit Patch in a Couple of Hours, so you end UP Runing along the Map and Tap some new Reservoirs and this isnt Fun. So there is a need for that too make it more "Fun" with Oluimit being Endless and or let us Bottle it. 3. Recipe: Some End Game Recipes are way too Heavy on Electronics. You end up With 2x640 Electronic Lines for just 8 Science/min and some Drones and Robots and this is way too much on the Technum Side. Also you need so much Steel which cant be made in a Blast Furnace so this needs a Fix aswell. I would Give this Game a solid 7/10 its pretty Fun and have some rly Cool Ideas but it need Polish too be a AAA

I've loved this series Nilaus, as I've been going along at a very similar pace. Also, I'm glad it's not just me that presses the ESC key to get out of a machine screen 😁😁 Looking forward to future episodes when content is added to the game.

I hollowed out a mountain... then pur all my modular towers under the mountain.... they CAN be built underground👍
@lainverse5 ай бұрын
They can be built wherever as long as building boundaries don't clash with obstacles like ground, trees and rocks. And you can disable snap to the ground to build it in the air.

I also 'finished' the game a few weeks ago and agree with basically all your points. Top of my list would be BLUEPRINTS. Assume they bring something interesting with the mega buildings. Good mod support would also be super promising - just look at what mods brought to Factorio (even though we know you're more of a traditionalist).

They are essentially smelters mk2, which I wish Satisfactory would add... I hate getting bogged down in the buildings and I'd prefer to optimize and explore

Like you I could definitely do without C3-BB but for me the minecraft ideas of digging is really cool. Hell, if you want to hide your smaller factory set ups underground, you can do that and just have the bigger buildings above ground. Craft your world however you want it. I like that part. For this game giving us all this and still in early access, it lends itself to mighty things for the end result that I am excited for as well.

I'd like to see more modular building and actual structures that house the process. Do you ever build that way?

More of a Kibitz thing if you wanna see the big buildings full of machines usually.

They need to lean into the assembly lines and, modular building much more. I would love to stop seeing these games have items go into box sound effect new item on the other side.

I'm keen on it, I bought and have about 7 hours in it. I just don't like the manual digging. It's so monotonous.
@Druark5 ай бұрын
Agree on this, there are some balance issues and things but the digging is just needlessly slow for no real reason, by the time you get faster digging you have automated explosives so it makes no sense to even use it. The explosives are slightly annoying too as the animation for throwing them is quite long and if clearing a large area can take significant time just to place them down. Maybe we need something like an explosive launcher but labelled as "Terrain Clearer" or something.

A threat to defend against that would also supply resources to advance would be nice. It doesn't have to be a super challenging threat by default but can be scaled by settings. Initially static defenses but maybe after you start building robots, mobile robot defenders would be an option. This would also open up the need for repair technology and cost resources to build defenses and repair. Personally I need more of a reason to build all this stuff beyond just expanding production chains. I will still probably pick this game up, but it could be so much more than it is now.
