I am helping my son with his school assignment on Nile River. We just spent 43 minutes experiencing the River! Thank you!

Thanks! Touring Egypt was a life-changing experience like no other. It is so ancient and alien! I personally saw no political unrest at all - only tents and flags set up in Tahrir Square outside the Egyptian Museum. The rest of the country is beautiful. Not too many pushy beggars except at the Pyramids where they are terrible. Hope to go again one day and see more!

Thanks for this, Jesse. Yes, always wondered what the Nile looked like. Also, liked the natural sounds. Wonderful video.

Jesse, this was enchanting--exactly what I was looking for. In a way, it makes both ancient and modern Egypt tangible and real to me. Thank you for this.

Hello. I took a similar cruise in 1978 and would love do it again. Sadly, there are too many people there now.

Hi - I was on the Nile in the heat of August and I don't remember any mosquitos at all! Maybe it's too dry.. We didn't stop at Gebel Silsila. I really want to visit Amarna one day - the Germans are funding an Akhenaten museum there that I hope to visit.

Yes - Egypt's suffering the most from the loss of tourism - the guide said it was dire. But the temples were empty which was nice. Cairo was calm - only Tahrir Square was turbulent, and the Egyptian Museum really needs attention!

Thank you. Since I'm into ambient music and travel documentaries, I figured I wanted to travel by sound to the Nile. As luck would have it you're the guy with the hookup. Good looking out! :) Btw, those riverside cave residences must have been something! Hmm...

Hey Jesse, I'm curious to know about the severity of the mosquitoes on the Nile. They seem to love me. Also, what type of boat did you ride in? I wish I had the time for a dahabiya but I will only have time for a fast cruise when I visit in November this year. BTW did you guys stop at Gebel Silsila or did you just sail past it?
@VitalMusic2178 жыл бұрын
Did you travel all the way down the nile recording?
@jessewaughcom8 жыл бұрын
+VitalMusic217 Yes - I was on a boat and propped up a camera at the glass door and let it record. The sound is authentic, but extended a bit.
@VitalMusic2178 жыл бұрын
Cool video. How long did the trip take? Cause I see even night takes.
@jessewaughcom8 жыл бұрын
VitalMusic217 I was on it for a week. They have these medium-sized cruise ships that go up and down the Nile. It was easily one of the best experiences I've ever had. I can't recommend it enough.
