I love when Rick Steves decides to step out of Europe for a bit and explores non-European countries

No trip is complete without watching Rick Steve's travel documentries. Each word that he says has a meaning & he doesn't say anything that doesn't have a meaning. It's like reading a textbook. Everytime you watch his travel documentry again, you find new things which you had missed grasping last time.

The footage of the Fallucca looks like the nile at Aswan - it’s a very picturesque place.. I feel like I’ve left my heart at the banks of the nile here, the huge desert dunes on the edges of the river, the dark stones emerging from the river, the white sails of the boats. I wish to visit this place again…

Rick was taking a short flight from Aswan to Abu Simbel temple at the end. The rest of us poor tourist departed at 3am from hotel. Took the river ferry to cross from the Elephant island, hop on mini bus, transfer to a big bus, finally arrived at the temple around 7 or 8 am. I can't remember precisely, I was exhausted from sleep deprivation, my Nubian room was hot like an oven, can't sleep.

Ancient Egyptians believed they will return to life that's why they buried all that gold with them and in some families they buried the favorite wife or the favorite servant too their beliefs of returning after death we as new Egyptians believe in that too but we do believe that you don't take anything to the grave and what helps you after ur death are ur good or bad deeds in the life that's it I hope u come for a visit soon alot of Russians in Egypt enjoy the red sea bty I'm sure u would like it too😊

When in Luxor, it might be more enjoyable to stay on the west bank. There are a few small hotels near the Valley of the Kings and Queens. It's quieter, with less traffic and people. The ferries to cross the Nile are cheap. The east side has the big temples and hotels, but it's also very crowded and noisy.
