Not just the Irish, but white. 300k white people were brought to the US as slaves. Mostly homeless and convicts during the 16th and 17th centuries. They were bought and sold. For context 400k black slaves were shipped to the US in roughly the same time frame. The difference was that white slavery ended when the US gained independence.

Random Irish, sidenote. At the same time during the transatlantic slave trade 1/3 of the entire Irish population was sold as slaves in Africa. The potato feminine in Europe wasn’t a famine. There was lots of food. The Irish just weren’t being given any so it was actually a genocide by the English. When the Irish came to the United States or to the Americas because the United States hadn’t founded yet the order of respect was black, dogs, Irish, so they were actually less liked and given less respect than slaves or dogs. I am 59 years old and a good friend of mine megee first generation Irish making his father the first to come to the USA and his story is about the children of Ireland and the way they were chained together and put in the coal mines to bring out the coal. Since they have a tidal and wave issue sections of the tunnels would flood, thus the reason why they are chained together so the survivors would have to drag out the ones that drowned so as not to have bodies blocking the tunnels. Please tell me again about no history of slavery in the Irish nation and as far as their acceptance her they were The first really hated immigrants from being Catholic and olde school sleeping with their animals like they did in their own country. The men were taken off the boats handed a gun and sent directly to war.
