Yes the level Hayes when they get into the water at the end. You hear the screaming and the roar. "No that wasn't Kong, that was something else." The V rex was and is still terrifying.

I’m replaying the 360 version of this game now on XSX backwards compatibility. I had no idea it was so short, but the gameplay still holds up. Definitely a top 10 movie game.

Games of this era were surprisingly short. 007 Nightfire, MechAssault, and technically Jet Set Radio Future if you skipped the Graffiti Souls. Unless you were playing an RPG like Kotor, you could easily beat the main content in a day. But they were still fun and in some cases ambitious for their time. Like here; I am amazed that a licenced game actually had immersive fire physics and survival horror. This is great stuff, it should be held up as an example of how a licenced game doesn't have to be complete shit. When they put in effort, they can be something special. Seemed like it learned a fair bit from Goldeneye.

Short games are one of the reasons I generally prefer older games to modern ones. I have ADHD so its difficult for me to commit to an 80 hour long RPG or open world action game, no matter how good it is. Being able to blast through a game this good in an afternoon is a dream come true!

The tendency of licensed games to be terrible is very peculiar to me. You'd think that out of all the components of making a game, putting a different graphical skin on to correspond to as licensed IP would be the least of it, compared to game design, level design, physics engine, AI, etc. You'd think that more talented developers with something fun in the pipeline would be keen to dress it up in recognisable IP, to get the ready made market. However games are produced, it just doesn't seem to work like that though does it...

OMG the memories I remember I used to rent this game a lot. And then I eventually asked to get the game for my birthday and then I eventually got it and I remember it took me a year to beat the entire game because I used to get stuck on a few levels and then after a while I got frustrated and I stopped playing and I started playing other games and then a couple months later I went back to it and tried to beat the levels I was stuck on thankfully I had a memory card because I had the PS2 at the time. And then I finally beat the game and then I didn’t realize that if you beat the game you can play in alternate ending.

It's such a straightforward game, but the action is so intense you just can't help but want to play it multiple times. & 3. Ahhhh, the early Xbox 360 days. I had this game for the original Xbox and I didn't have an X360 until my 16th birthday in April 2007. Halo 3. Gears of War, Lost Planet, TES4: Oblivion, Call of Duty 2, Perfect Dark Zero, and so many classics. Thankfully, I got this version for the X360 and, graphic-wise, it's better than the original version. That last level was something else!

I’d always start off with more than enough magazines during a level only to then panic when facing tougher enemies or having to deal with a crap ton of them. Looking back on this sometimes makes me wish that a Jurassic Park game could be made, with a similar dynamic. You could start out playing as vulnerable human characters like Grant, Malcolm, Sattler, Muldoon, Tembo, etc. before then playing as a T-Rex. Although a Rex cannot climb, swing, or interact with an Anne-type character, at least Kong’s combat mechanics could be used as a template for a T-Rex’s various attacks.
