LEDs are great and use a lot less power for the amount of light you get. Great JOB Paul & Kathy.

It must be a LED light bar season! 😄 I just put a Rigid LED bar on my headache rack on the truck... and it's extremely bright! This technology has allowed the lobster boats around here to have very powerful lighting without the addition of a dedicated diesel generator, used only to run high-wattage HID lighting. With LED lighting the generator is unnecessary as the normal charging system is able to keep up. I nearly live with an LED headlamp on that in combination with a lithium ion battery is a dramatic Improvement over battery life and the weight of the unit. Keep up the good work!👍

I've learned that you can paint the clips that hold the cable ties to match. I got tired of them being white on a black background and used some spray paint for plastics on them. Great job as usual Paul.

Another fine and helpful video Paul and Kathy. Quite a delight to watch the Modfather install the same light bar that I recently purchased for the ROPS of my little tractor. (My bar is only 12 inches.) I had already figured out the wiring, but it was nice to see you confrm my suspicions. I have to point out, since someone else is sure to, that the positive wire from the light looked awfully red on my TV. :-) Thanks for posting.
@78633486 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I’m not sure what you mean about the red wire but I’ve had many led lights from China that those wires weren’t standard colours. Most I’ve seen were black and white and in some cases the black was the positive wire. Not American standards. That’s what I meant.
@terryluebbe25606 жыл бұрын
Paul & Kathy Short: When you pointed out that the polarity of the wires were nicely labeled, you mistakenly said the positive wire was white. No harm done, since if folks follow your good advice and check the lables, they will get it right. BTW, I can attest to the durability of these Nilight products. While aligning the mounts to the brackets in my ROPS, I dropped them. They crashed off my hitch and onto my garage floor. The light survived with only a small nick in the paint on one corner. I was very impressed with their ruggedness. Love your videos, and plan to order some of your merch. (Gotta get some stickas.)
@78633486 жыл бұрын
Well I sure don’t remember it lol. Goes to show nothing is rehearsed and not much editing is done. Some days it’s shoot and go. I never watched the video but it’s strange I’d say white when there were only two wires. One black and one red lol. Brain fart I guess 😉

Hi Paul I have a RTV 500 with a V4321 PLASTIC CANOPY and I'm going to order Nilight 39Inch 252W LED Work Light Bar and a wiring harness, I have a few questions if you can lead me it the right direction, the RTV has a spot on the dash more like a blank for a Switch for off and on what Harness part should I order? And how do I get the metal brackets that you fabricated for the mounting the brackets that come with the light bar. I wish I lived closer to your shop!! Lol Please keep doing what you and Kathy do absolutely enjoy your very informative videos. I wish Kathy had zoomed in on the brackets on the roof of the Kubota. Respectfully Denny G.

Hi Paul, I just purchased an x1100c and the dealer installed halogen work lights. I have some LED work lights that I want to replace them with but I need the proper connectors to plug into the kubota pre-installed harness. You wouldn’t happen to have a link to the proper kubota connectors for Amazon would you? Thanks for the help, Jason

I have never found OEM connectors and I’ve tried. I simply remove the connectors from the OEM lights and solder them onto the led lights. Much better lighting and well worth the effort.

Did you drill mounting holes in the roof mounting plates? What did you use to waterproof around your mounting holes?
@78633484 жыл бұрын
That’s an old video and my memory isn’t that great these days but I used existing threaded holes and I made the new mounting plates. As for weatherproofing this sort of thing I always have a little bit of marine silicone or liquid to apply on the bolts. That’s about it.

I just bought an "offshore" version of this. It looks virtually identical right down to the harness. Not great quality. The 10MM mounting bolts were too short and stripped out the first time I tried to tighten them. On another note...The headlight/turn signal switch on this Kubota is identical to the switch on my Mahindra tractor...I wonder if they use the same parts bin?

Will it harm to tap into the headlight wiring harness and then unplug the headlights and use the light bar?
@78633486 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t do that. The oem wiring might not be carrying the amperage needed to run the new lights and cause issues all the way around.
@dmmartin19586 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. saved me from making a mistake.
@marvinwegner61196 жыл бұрын
Dave if you check the fuses value for the original light and it is the same or higher the original harness will handle it fine.
@dmmartin19586 жыл бұрын
What about using the Head light wire to power a relay? I wish you use the original light switch on the Kubota.
@78633486 жыл бұрын
The harness is meant to go to the battery as the instructions indicated. If you chose to splice in elsewhere you run the risk of overwhelming the area in which you tapped into. This wasn’t intended to be a “how to video” . It was intended to demonstrate the installation of the light which included the light, the supplied switch and the wiring harness.

Nothing bad about led's on off road vehicles, but I hate them on the new car/trucks and on vehicles that people have retro fitted. Especially a 4x4 with bigger tires as they blind me on our country roads. I have to stop and let them pass. Some times I even have to stop for on coming cars. They may be find from behind the steering wheel, but from in front they are bad for me coming at them.
