Vespa barn find makeover. I was lucky, because I found one of the last 100% original Vespas in a Barn. It has been in the barn for 30 years. I discovered it there 20 years ago, now I can call it my own. And now I will just disassemble and process it - bring the paintwork into shape and re-install all the original parts. All!!!
Without tuning / without repainting the body ...
just a complete restoration and repairjob.
Ich hatte Glück, denn ich fand eine der letzten 100% originalen Vespas in einer Scheune. Sie steht seit 30 Jahren im Stall. Ich habe sie dort vor 20 Jahren entdeckt, jetzt darf ich sie mein Eigen nennen. Und nun werde ich sie zerlegen und bearbeiten - den Lack in Form bringen und alle Originalteile wieder einbauen. Alle!!!
Ohne Tuning / ohne die Karosserie neu zu lackieren...

There are people who put mud/grease/oil on top of vehicle body to feel like it's untouched for long time then dismantle it clean it and assemble it back. They call it as restoration. On the other hand this guy who tries to keep originality at its best. Hats off ❤️

Thanks a lot! I have also seen videos where motorcycles were deliberately covered with leaves and branches in the forest to make it appear that they have been there for many years. To then "restore" them.And with the Vespa I had first considered to leave it further in the condition in which I found it to put it so on the dry shelf.

That patina on a paint just gives it soooo much cool looks... At first I was thinking "what, no new paint wtf??" but at the end I'm so glad that it isn't repainted, that would spoile everything. What a wonderful video, so much effort in to making it... Thank you, it was such a nice thing to watch during my covid struggle alone trapped inside...

So eine perfekte und detailverliebte Arbeit... zuerst schön anzusehen. ..und dann beginnen die fast körperlichen Schmerzen als sie wieder mit dem 50er - der ja nur der Platzhalter für einen brauchbaren Motor ist - zusammengebaut wird. ..Wie perfekt wäre sie in diesen Händen mit einem 138er...für mich als alten Vespaschrauber aus den 80ern kaum zu ertragen..

Nice that you see it that way. Many see it differently. I have already disassembled many Vespa scooters. But most of them did not need it. I regret that today. This Vespa never even came close to a thought of stripping it. It is in wonderful original condition.

@@NilsHomann In my case it was needed. Bodywork was reasonably OK, paint was kinda ugly and not red metallic, so I had to do it. It is way nicer now :)

nice video. i loved that you neutralized the rust only and didn't repaint and kept it all original...except that seat cover. I hate those aftermarket seat covers. I would have stitched up the old one and reused or gotten a repro like the original. Otherwise I LIKE.
