Fans need to chill out a bit, i'm gutted to see Luiz go, but if Dan Bardell's right and he refused to sign a new contract then I think the club is doing well to dig us out of a tricky position. £60m worth of value for PSR, 2 new players in, and he's not going to a rival prem club.

Illing Junior has so much skill and attacking flair as left wing back it's ridiculous! And both McKennie and Illing are proper tacklers! I'm very pleased! Luiz bored me with his pedestrian Brazil Spray the odd pass, and his ridiculous ridiculous pen run ups, which actually show a lack of confidence or conviction! Illing and MCKennie certainly won't bore anyone! 😂

Good pod. Saw a theory that the two players being signed count as a profit with regards P&S? Is that right? If not why would we do a swap deal and not try and get some more money, as I'm sure other sides would be interested for more cash.

Not Weston Mckennie (I’m American btw and have heard all the hype about him for so many years. Lies!!!)

Yes, in short we’ve got just shy of 60 million, I believe that gets us out of the woods. Duran is allegedly going for 50 million euros. So those ease our worries and free up some money. Unai has a plan!

That's my feeling on McKinnie too. And I don't think McKinnie wants to be at Villa. This whole thing is really awkward. Maybe Emery plays McKinnie at right back, kinda out of the way. Maybe we see him playing behind Kamara off the bench when we need defense late in games. I really hate to say all that being an American, but this is not an Emery move. This is a business move. I just hope it doesn't bite us. Losing Luiz is huge.

McKennie played 1 game under Marsch. He was sacked immediately after they secured him. This guy knows nothing about his time at Leeds. They rolled out Bamford, Ayling, Meslier, Firpo, Liam Cooper as starters. All Championship or League 1 level players. Tyler Adams got injured, and the coaches put him in the 6, which is not his position. Who’s going to succeed under those circumstances? His “friend” he is talking about, was a hanger on that started crap with Leeds fans, so much that McKennie actually had to call him out on social media stating that he didn’t speak for him. This lead to Leeds fans hating McKennie. You should talk to gjustjuve (30k subscribers) on youtube about McKennie and Illing Jr. to get a true idea of how they performed.

In fairness to Nima he was on to speak to McKennie and Iling Juniors time at Juve. However you’re right I misspoke on the pod and lead the conversation regards Marsch. McKennie came into a team that Marsch had broken and was in free fall was the point. Yeah I misspoke when I said Marsch told him run around till he got a nose bleed as that was Garcia but nothing changed when Garcia came in, in fact Garcia was worse. He wasn’t Gracias man. The point was Marsch was the man that followed the man, he had them in free fall and there was no saving the team after that. The players you mention apart from Firpo all excelled under Bielsa which kind of proves my point that as I mentioned that those players were set up for Bielsa and Marsch was one of the least adaptable managers I’ve seen in the last 5 years and lead to them being unsaveable at that time. That was the point 🤷‍♂️ he was in a shit situation and McKennie is a better than his time at Leeds but not a direct replacement for Dougie 😀

@@ForTheLoveofPaulMcGrathPodcast with you on Marsch. Not a fan myself. Bielsa is an amazing coach. McKennie and Leeds were doomed from the start. Mgmt brought him there knowing they were going to sack Marsch, which for better or worse was one of the reasons he asked to come there so already feelings of being lied to already surfaced, the second was his best friend Adams being there. Both questionable decisions. Once Adams got hurt, it was over. This idiot 29 guy ruined him with the fans, and then of course they scapegoated him. I will also disagree with Nima’s assessment of McKennie. He has way better tech ability than he’s being given credit for, and his passes were pretty amazing this year. He played 2600 minutes this year which is way more than he has ever played, along with a busy intl schedule. To be honest in the last few games he looked to be running out of steam, but the rest of the season was team mvp caliber, and you won’t find many true fans that will disagree with that. He has the ability to score goals, and is good in the air. And I also beg to differ with the assessment that he doesn’t read the game as well as others. He is a very intelligent player. With Illing Jr., there’s definitely a ton of potential. He just needs a little confidence. Crossing skills are better than most. Good motor too. He needs minutes. Just my .02. Cheers! Also- definitely not a direct replacement for Dougie. He is versatile. Have not done research on your team, but he’ll earn playing time. He’s a very likable guy. I guess that’s what frustrates me the most about his time at Leeds, and why I wish he would stay at Juventus. They love him there.

Unai has RINSED Juve! MCKennie and Illing Junior will be worth double the £20M Juve valued them at! I'm amazed we got both +£20! Id have been happy with just one of them +£20! Either one! Villa fans need to understand what's going on here! Luiz was too pedestrian and not switched on enough for Unai pressing system! And I never warned to Luiz anyway, so I'd have sold him myself! MCKennie and Illing Junior will Make Villa far more creative and dynamic and unpredictable in time once they adapt. Luiz is more suited to the slower Italian League, and MCKennie is more suited to hussle of Premier! Make no mistake, if Juve have valued these two at £20M each, they have lost the plot! We have rinsed them! Villa fans needs to understand the difference between the Prem and Serie A!👍

Yeah I reckon Dougie's season ended when Kamara got injured. I was a lot more impressed with Tielemans from that point of the season onwards.
