magnets look like they'll have great potential for all sorts of odd ideas... i'm picturing a cluster of those mines, setting them initially to repel, so they'll fling each other hither and yon before switching to attract. or limpet style sumo subdrone that attaches to an enemy, and then kicks in sideways thrust sending the enemy veering off sideways i really, really, hope there's plans to add a wider variety of things to do in the gameplay portion of this game, the design part just seems like so much fun :)

Lathrix, to be true some people do fish explosives. They're kinda bad at least in a way because it can damage coral reefs, for example, leaving even more lasting effects...

I'm going to try to use the magnets to make a sumo drone that entraps the enemy, turns them around, and pushes them out of the ring using magnets, I'd never thought of using the magnets as more propellant before though, cool idea

I need someone to make a railgun now :) Also, if magnets repel other drones, but those drones in question dont repel the magnets (newtons 3rd force doesnt exist), then you could put a lot of repulsion magnets on your craft, release a trapped smaller craft (or just hunk of hull) and it can propel you forward without thrusters. if thats the way they work

What you could do is have a spinning drone that has a spring that orbits the main drone and have a magnet on the other side of the spring. That way the magnet repels the other enemies.

If you design it correctly I bet using the spring and magnets you could design a craft that uses them as it's main propulsion. One pulls and one pushes and as the two get sprung and retracted it moves your craft.

Use the magnets to create some anti-transmitter cruise missiles! Set them with stabilisation and distance sensors to cruise above the ground, with a high radius magnet that'll steer the missile into the transmitter when it gets close by. Either TNT or heavy weaponry on distance sensors (weapons are probably more viable because of the drones) will finish the job.

One word. Railgun. A drone that is able to shoot out small simple projectiles at high velocity using magnets. Do the magnets affect tnt? if so, you could make a magazine of decoupleable tnt and shoot them using this railgun.

You just have to place a counter-magnet at the other side of your craft and it should balance out, I think.

I had a thought about your magnet based bombs/rockets, Why not make it with a sort of switch, a timer basically so when you decouple the magnet isn't instantly on, but instead, turns on a very, very short time after decoupling, so that way it gets away/out of range of being attracted to your own vessel, before it turns it on full power to help pull it to enemies.

Hey what's up Salem here, I just wanted to let you know that there's so much more to that application involving the magnet which I think you did not quite Explore. For example you've got this automated magnetized device that goes around humming on enemies why not surrounded by flamethrowers are gone so when it's going to enemies hit kills one after another until there's none close by but using some kind of spring system making it so it stays local to your area so they're just like homing drones that shoot enemies just like the enemies that shoot you

Another thing you could try for the sumo arena is set magnets with thrusters to offer side to eject and cling to the drone and turn it sideways as it charges you... Throwing itself out of the ring. Some may not like it but I think it would look funny to try at least one

Would it be possible to get two opposite magnets to function as your 'thrust' for the bombs? You'd be having magnetic mines that you push away from yourself with an opposite magnetic field.

Not sure if I'm the only person to realise this but the magnets also seem to be able to affect bullets or rockets, if you slow the video down you can see the shots sometimes curve when they reach the magnets.

Hey lath try and put down a spinner with a sensor and one of those gates(NOT GATE that's the name) that make it so they give a sertan output as long as the input IS NOT active and set the spinner and the sensor to it so it permanently spins in one direction until the sensor detects an enemy and then it starts going back and forth locking into the enemy, and now just put some lasers snipers or shotguns that are activated by the sensor and BAM a turret of sorts then just make a few more but don't forget to use separate key bindings for each one!

Lathrix... u know those magnets. Put a bunch of them onto decouplers and then the decouplers on springs or jump thrusters set the magnets to repel and then depending on how many you have, you wont get knocked out right?

idea: remove the bomb from the missile and use it as a grappling hook. cover your craft in lasers and shields to essentially be a battering ram that grapples to stuff.
