My favorite part of this video was how Baradul was reading the battlefield. I feel like this mech would make for a good fast reaction command unit. This video shows more than just a neat mech load out, but how to direct troops in the field.

I love how Baradul still loves the game. i wish every one had a slice of that enthusiasm (and happy fun bug and not too sour) since really, after so long, MWO has worked out most of its bugs and is very nice looking and playable. It's as good as ever... and i'm glad we still have veterans, guess there's no worries about some core players always playing. Who should make the next installment in the franchise?

Playing a Shadow Cat with 2 large pulse will teach every player how to move around the battlefield. This mech is an awesome learning experience.

Ive been thinking about domination game mode and I wish they had a variant where the cap-zone moved. Like, it would stay in one place for a while, then switch to somewhere else on the map and get smaller, maybe do this twice before game end, getting smaller each time and forcing the teams to try and take the zone with less and less resources and engage in running battles with each-other as they try to cross the map to the next cap zone.

Used to run something similar on the SHC way back when with only MGs and ERLLs. Found that early-game I normally saved armor thanks to being relatively snipey and not being the biggest threat on the field. Late game I'd clean up with the MGs and my extra armor allowed me to confirm kills. I ended up doing much better in that build most matches than with the standard LPL/ECM setup.

Interesting build, your concept makes sense. I use to run mine p with 2ppc and 6 regular machine guns. Do the normal ppc play at the start, and charge when the game allows you to it.. A little more aggressive, and more problematic due to heat issues
@nothingface7624 жыл бұрын
I like to do a Vapor Eagle with that build (well, 5 MGs but not a big change), it's better on heat because it's heavier and unlike the Shadow Cat you can fine tune how much weight you spend on mobility to invest in heat sinks instead.

When you're down 11-1, is there any advantage to prolonging the fight, other than sniping a kill or two?
@youtubeseagull4 жыл бұрын
yes. It is always good "training". It's always good practice to do and die trying. I believe that, like in martial arts, good sportsmanship and a "warrior's" spirit are important here. It will always pay off in real life to have some grit and be a good sport in games. Of course i don't believe in actually following that 100 percent. I like that there's some bad guys and trolling in games. But yes, there's something to gain. Grit, spirit, intensity, reputation, and respect.
@daemonwulfe4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the setting. One of my best matches had me and a team mate vs. 8 of the enemy team. My team mate helped me kill one, died, and I ended up killing the remaining 7 enemy mechs, all heavily damaged, using a Jenner w/ 6ML, pre re-scale. I don't like to prolong matches though. In that instance they kept dying so I kept searching to kill more.

@FLUX.22263 жыл бұрын
Laser beams sometimes do this when you fire them while using jump jets. Happened to me today as well. It's a bit weird that they do this instead of following your shaking crosshairs but hey, that's how it works. Perhaps the graphics can't keep up with the fast moving beams so it looks like they are jumping, or the shaking crosshair is just a UI gimmick and the laser beams show the actual "jump jets accuracy".

@Hawk0134 жыл бұрын
Just guessing, but I don't think he wants the arms unlocked because it slows your torso twisting to spread incoming damage around. It's a tiny delay, but milliseconds count.
@SkullKing118414 жыл бұрын
@@Hawk013 Eh just move your mouse fast and you'll be fine. Your torso won't actually move any faster with arm lock on, it has a fixed speed.
@tutzdesYT4 жыл бұрын
@@Hawk013 unlocked arms make mechs torso twist faster. Torso rotates at the speed of your mouse movement or at max speed. When the arms are locked every mouse move faster than mech's torso twist ratio is wasted. To be effective you need to move your mouse at the torso speed and no less every time, without any interruptions, which is super hard to do (bc every mech has different torso twist rate). On, say, Annihilator you will be forced to move your mouse super-slow but not slower than torso twist rate, otherwise you will be running out of mouse pad space every second (and the torso will stop moving every time you do). It also makes torso movement distance not directly relative on mouse movement distance. With unlocked arms the torso will move at max speed as long as arms reticle is ahead of torso reticle. So you can move your arms reticle faster than torso twist rate and this movement is not wasted, but accumulated. If your mouse movement speed is lower than max arms movement speed, the with mouse displacement of the same value you will always get the same (arms and) torso movement distance. So the armlock is only better for precise torso weapon aiming.

@@tutzdesYT Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrddddd! No, seriously, that's super useful information that it would have been super nice to know a long time ago. One of my biggest complaints about this game is the total lack of documentation about stuff like this. They really don't tell you anything when you are starting new, and it's not so easy to look up unless you are familiar win Mechwarrior in general. So that taken into consideration, I would guess it's actually the opposite of my first guess. As you said, arm locking is better for precise aiming, so I would guess he keeps it on press to get better aim but still have that option to unlock for faster twisting to spread damage. I need to start doing that myself. It certainly explains why everyone else is twisting so much faster, I thought I just had all the slowest mechs lol.

@@Hawk013 I dare say it's partly what he's used to, and partly having it on demand so he can get both UAVs/jetting opponents with minimal heat wastage/team damage worries. The toggle over the snap is something that'd likely trip him up at first, and slow him down some. On hold, it's kinda like the hold breath mechanic when games put them in for snipers.

"It's always in the last place you'd look." A common saying where it's in the place you'd least expect it but not exactly the last place you would look. The difference between finding a dogs toy in your underwear draw versus finding it under the couch. And there's always that one guy that drags out the game, to be fair.

@nothingface7624 жыл бұрын
The Shadow Cat has MASC, which is a piece of equipment some mechs can mount that gives you a short speed burst, but in return will damage your legs if left active for too long. In it also boosts your acceleration, which makes it useful for peeking in and out of cover.

The only mech I own is a KDK-3... that mech used to be really good, but that was before they changed the skill system a couple years ago. Now it seems like it is basically a garbage mech that can't do anything good enough to get the job done. I need a build to scrape C-Bills until I can afford a new mech!

The trial Hellbringer's good for it, if you just need to grind. I'd suggest seeing where your playstyle lies these days with the trial mechs, and go from there. If you're after something sooner rather than later, look at IS mediums, and see if anything tickles your fancy.
