Thank you for this super step by step tutorial . I did try to find the pattern and now understand it is no longer free. You deserve all remunerations. Please don’t listen or reply to devastatingly rude people , it’s just upsetting for you and us. You have enough followers who appreciate your hard effort and skill , which should be rewarded to keep it going , after all we all have to make a living . Love your work they are the best knitting patterns on the web that I have seen and brilliantly taught with emphasis on skills. Hopefully you will write a book one day.

thank you for your kind words, Sue. Tho, luckily I very rarely get those rude people here on my channel. It's quite a blessing! And yeah, the pattern used to be free in the veeery beginning but then I updated it thoroughly had to let it tech-edit and test-edit, produce this video and so on and that's where I decided, hey all this investment needs to show some returns otherwise it's no longer feasible for me :)

I live in the Midwest in the US and our city has a street/neighborhood that has over-the-top Halloween decorations (my parents live on the actual street three blocks from my house.) As they are older I have been the Queen of Halloween for their house and one of our displays has been a pumpkin patch that has been growing for twenty plus years. So carving Styrofoam pumpkins is my secondary hobby to knitting (currently I have around 275). As the pumpkin queen I have been collecting mini-skeins of orange and green fingering and DK with the idea that I would, one day, eventually knit a pumpkin garland for my mantle at home that could be used all fall. Now I know why I never started it, after seeing how much more well constructed/structured your pumpkin pattern is I am finally willing to commit to knitting some pumpkins. Your video is amazing and incredibly helpful. Looking forward to finally casting on this long-term project.

I've just finished my first pumpkin and it looks beautiful! The video is very comprehensible and the pattern I bought on etsy is too. The fact that you have videos on the new (at least for me) stitches is also great. The only piece of criticism I've got for this project is, although you said in the video it's an easy one for people who've knitted a scarf or two, it was really difficult and frustrating for me (this is my third project). I had to restart it many times (I wouldn't be surprised if it were more than 30) and thought about abandoning it more than once. I'm happy and proud of being able to complete it, though, and I'm sure the new stitches I've learnt will be of service on future projects.
@NimbleNeedles2 жыл бұрын
very happy to hear you were able to complete the pattern and learned a ton along the way. I do have to mention that I said it's suitable for knitters past their first scarf not knit them as the second project after your first scarf. The description on Etsy/ravelry also say intermediate difficulty. Still, sorry for the misunderstanding.

@@NimbleNeedles Thank you for your quick responce. Will grant younit is an odd question::) Why I asked is that I like my continental method, although think that picking would certainly benefit when knitting small projects where needles and fingers might get in the way of each other. With picking I find there is no finger movement which might assist in small projects. Guess I will test my little theory while knitting your adorable pumpkin. My apologies, at times I can be "knit picky." :o) All the best from northern BC.

Can you show us leaf

the instructions are in the pattern. Just buy it and it is very straight forward

I'm having problems understanding this pattern. Every increase round I end up with more stitches than I should? Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
@NimbleNeedles2 ай бұрын
No...and uh...other than showing you here in this video, I'm quite at a loss what else to tell you. 🤔

Are you adding increases in between the round repeats?

These are sooo cute, but I don't own any DPNs. Is there maybe a magic loop version of this pattern? Because, one time, I tried to follow a DPN knitting pattern on a magic loop... and nearly died. 😅 It was so confusing!
@NimbleNeedles3 жыл бұрын
S lot of people have finished it using magic loop. But there is no separate pattern and neither would there be any difference. It will be fiddly the first couple of rows but that's true for dpns as well. And the icords are a bit awkward with circulars.

More patterns would be helpful. I am a visual learner and sometimes I don't always understand pattern instructions.

Now I'm wondering how difficult it would be to convert this pattern to a knitting loom

Impossible, I'd say

Just a suggestion. It might be a good idea if you make a video knitting this pattern with larger needles for those of us that are visually impaired and then tell us to knit it with smaller needles. At 80 years of age i found the present video impossible to follow.

While I value your input and try to accommodate such requests as much as possible here on my channel, videos like these are always just a bonus to a pattern and never the main highlight. I merely recorded me knitting one sample in the suggested gauge. If I was to create an extra sample, etc, the pattern price would probably have to be double to make this even remotely financially viable.

When you realize that you've been doing knit through back loop increases wrong for 14 years... in my defense I taught myself when I was 15 but still! What a facepalm moment. lol
@NimbleNeedles3 жыл бұрын
Well, you might want to look into combination knitting then because there you actually ktbl every stitch! :) So..it your facepalm moment might turn into an Eureka moment ;-)

Very nice Norman! I think these videos are extremely helpful when making projects. This is a perfect project for getting practice on dpns. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Well..maybe not as a first project but I think as a second they are actually somewhat easy..or rather fast to finish with instant gratification

I will definitely find out, lol. I’ve worked enough with dpns closing up hats etc. so I’m ready to give it a try!

Norman, My pattern says N1togll. k1togrl and you did right the opposite, i think. Help.
@NimbleNeedles2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you have very old version of the pattern from back when it was free. I updated the pattern last year, recorded the video, more pictures, etc and put it in my shop. That prbably explains it.
