The truth is that it took a LOT of convincing to Sega for that to happen, and Sega only made Streets of Rage 4/Bare Knuckle IV because fans of the Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle franchise made Streets of Rage Remake, and Sega couldn't have their fans make a better video game than themselves, hence when they stirred up the hornet's nest, they had no choice but to throw the fans a bone, and thus Sonic Mania was made. (However, contrary to what people say, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Sonic Mania are not really all that great, let alone that one is better than the other, and Streets of Rage Remake, and Streets of Rage 4/Bare Knuckle IV, are really six of one and a half-dozen of the other, despite what the elitist i d i o t s on both sides of each debate say on those matters, period, full stop). The only way to convince companies like Nintendo that the fans know what the franchise needs is to simply fire the narrow minded old farts from the company and strip them from any and all capabilities of making video games ever again, no property rights, no expys/copycats/ripoffs, just start over with a clean slate. (Finally, if one does want a nice alternative to Sonic the Hedgehog that was once a fan game, then I would suggest playing the Freedom Planet games. Yes, they aren't as fast as the Sonic games, but they're definitely better, to be honest).

@@jaretco6423 , it's mediocre, and ditto for Sonic the Hedgehog 4, so beg all that you want on that issue. Sonic quit being good when the Fleetway, Archie, SatAM, Sega, and IDW people all began arguing over the franchise. Sonic has always been overrated, and he has had too few levels that are too busy, as well as run on a timer, too few enemies in his enemies gallery, and too few power ups at his disposal. His main gimmicks are hopping into things, being a buzz saw on his enemies, maybe using some environmental things, and maybe some enemies, and having too little diversity on how he approaches enemies in his games.

This looks like an good fan game. But saying it's better than Wonder is an far stretch since it's not fully finished yet and there are an few quirks that needs to be tweak like the combo/movesets buttons and one or two level designs. My biggest worries is that if they make the levels go on for too long. Any minutes above 8 just to padded it out is not an good level design if you ask me.

My point is that, if Nintendo wants to become anal retentive about protecting its IPs, then I can just become equally as anal retentive about showing how much hypocrisy, deception, and outright theft came as a result of Nintendo making those very exact same IPs that it has worked so desperately hard to try and protect over the years. Moreover, the truth will be exposed, it will rock the corporate board of Nintendo, and either make it a shell of its former self, or it will outright destroy the company, and it will also lead to criminal sentences being handed out like Oprah Winfrey handing out cars to Nintendo, as well as its allies that have allowed its misdeeds to go unpunished over the years. 12:45 The idea of moving slow on land wouldn't be bad if moving on land was an optional task designed to harmlessly punish players for not being skilled enough to avoid them. This is largely the game design of sonic levels- skilled players go fast, fast players get rewarded with unique paths that can't be obtained going slow, unique paths feature collectibles or- you guessed it- even MORE speed. It is a self feedback loop of making it feel more and more satisfying to play as good as possible to go as fast as possible, and going slow is rarely ever forced upon the player let-alone incentivized. The Dolpho sections could probably take a page out of that book.

When you land on the grass as dolpho you can jump as soon as you land to keep all of your momentum, so in that sense it is skill based. I do still think that that section isn't that well structured though.

Thanks to you I heard about this really AMAZING looking fanmade Super Mario Bros & The Rainbow Stars game that it's Demo was relased in yesterday and I downloaded it on my PC! If this is only a Demo do that means the game is still making on the way? I played it and really liked the game, but there were four things I didn't really like, though they're small. When pulling out starry, it's just a tiny bit too slow. When tying to dive after doing a wall jump, sometimes you have to let go of the movement and than start moving again to whichever way you wanna dive, Though I think this might've just been a glitch. this is probably just a skill issue but, on the dolpho racing part, the precision of the jump on the grass is very tight and hard to pull off. (Just got to you talking about dolpho, you can jump on the grass to keep your speed.) and finally, the bosses felt too easy, and I hope they get some kind of buff.

Ok, so I downloaded this game and started playing it yesterday. I noticed that during the levels, the scrolling was jerky and there was a lot of screen tearing and jitter. Does anyone else have this problem? It's only on this particular game, and nothing else I play on my PC. I've tried several things to fix it, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

The Cat Mario level, is my pick for least favorite so far, other then that wonder key hunt level I guess. I think it's cool that you can do dive dashes, where you dive into the ground and jump as soon as you land to keep the momentum going. However the climbing feels a bit slower then it needs to be and not having a ground pound dive hurt my soul a little. Also that part where you are jumping side to side on those slippery or jelly blocks felt kinda finicky. If I were to change anything with it, maybe making the dive done mid air with the spin jump button, ala Mario Maker 2 would be good because that dive move is set to the regular run button mid air. Also I'd like it if they were to up the speed when climbing a wall. Other then that it works fine I guess.

why would he care when the person who made the fan games has been uploading videos about the game for 7 YEARS. On their channel they have a release video with over 300k views.
