As an Arab Muslim, you mentioning the name change of the Caliente really made me so happy! It’s nice to see someone showing actual care. Edit: I just want to make it clear: I don’t expect the Sims to make every Townie a person of colour. I want diversity for a reason, that includes White people for me. But the impact that representation has is immense. Having the Goth family being half Hispanic because of Bella, the Caliente’s being Arab or Half Arab-Half Hispanic are all huge steps forward. We’ve made remarkable changes in representation for Black people but it doesn’t end there.

It bothered me so in my head canon Nighat is still their mother, but Katrina is their step-mom ( both their parents were dead in TS2, so having their bio mom pre-decease their bio dad and him remarrying in this version of the sims world feels less icky then erasing their family culture). In my head, Katrina was a gold-digger and she pushes her step-daughters to “be more American” to help them hide their alien roots (and I mean literal alien, in TS2 they had Sixam ancestry).

Nina hated her baby and just wanted promotions; Dina had twins and became an awesome doting mother. Together they earned millions, put the kids in private school, bought a mansion, married amazing people, and Don Lothario who? He never moved out of his lousy apartment bc he owed so much child support. Long live the Caliente legacy!
