Nina Hagen - eine der letzten echten Musiklegenden Deutschlands, fantastische Sängerin, absolut authentisch und irrsinnig kreativ. Man kann von ihr als Person vielleicht halten, was man will, aber vor der Künstlerin Nina Hagen kann man nur den Hut ziehen.

0:47 Awesome moment of making a big f*ck up with style! Makes me smile everytime I see this! That girl has attitude! Bloobers don't exist when you're that cool! 🙂 The timing is humour in itself and touching her nose straight afterwards is hilarious :-) Continuing the song and nailing it! yeah! 😀

Great intro, fitting the song. And judged by the "look" the keyboard player added a part to the intro :-)
@SteenEnBeen5 жыл бұрын
Oh come on. Don't turn a punk concert into a musical, specially if you have no acting skills. It's silly and that's the final verdict. Also, the keyboard riff is supposed to be played twice (at least going by the studio version), so Frau Hagen comes in early. It happens, maybe she was contemplating the acting part herself and lost her concentration.

@@SteenEnBeen Nina Hagen actually was a really good actress. She did theater and movies in East Berlin und also a few movies in the west as well as some dubbing e.g. in Nightmares before Christmas where she spoke and sang Sally or in Spirited Away where she gave her voice to Yubaba/Zeniba. She also played in the Threepennyopera. The intro was meant to be funny and weird, so it is. Has nothing to do with bad acting or turning a punk concert into a musical, which would also be kinda fitting since she did theater and wanted to be an actress but the government wouldnt let her take classes, so she was teached by her mother who was a very famous actress in the east xD
@shorts-by-eric Жыл бұрын
Yes, the keyboard player plays the full original riff. So Nina enters four bars early into the song. But who cares?! At this time she was unbeatable wth her energy and this awesome band backing up her unique talent. This is raw power and skill combined during a period when either the vast majority of artists were overly slick or punk bands that hardly could play. Unfortunately, Nina and the band (later called Spliff) parted ways in 1979. The first album really stands out. Even today. Not one bad track. Even "Fisch im Wasser" is great 😀

I'm from Berlin and Kurt Tucholsky is one of my favourite authors. Sadly, he's so idiosyncratic that he's hard, if not impossible, to translate. He was so prolific that he created multiple pseudonyms (all very humorous, he had a *great* sense of humour) to get everything he wrote out to the public. He saw it all coming! Another German author, Erich Kästner, said "He was a short, chubby man who wanted to stop the catastrophe with a typewriter." He despaired when he realised he couldn't and either OD'd or intentionally took his own life with prescription drugs in Sweden.

+J. Levi C. An interesting bit of trivia about the lube in question: the official translation from way-back-when also chose to make it rhyme (apparently believing that English speakers call her "Marleeen Dietrich"), rendering it "Marlene wasn't making that scene / Simone de Beauvoir said 'Au revoir!' "

I specifically used the term "paraphrasing", because a literal word-by-word translation results in germlisch, closely related to gibberish and equally hard to understand for native English speakers. And yes, I used Lee-Ann to match both the syllables and the rhyme. I don't think Marlene had any other specific meaning than to rhyme with Pläne.

Why? Warum? Was sprechst du denn? Welke taal spreek jij dan? Do you even speak another language?
@matildawagner55983 ай бұрын
Why? ...because it's difficult to learn with all the long words and that Latin in-between? I know, I live in the UK, and for the majority of British people it's just too hard to pronounce any words from a different language and keep them original when learn them, they always falling back into their 'old ways' and pronounce all the words from a different language as if they were part of the English language. The English language, which is a lazy and 'stubborn' language ...is far too easy to learn, and less pragmatic. Never met an English speaker who can [or is willing to] pronounce any other language properly. They're just too lazy or they're give-up trying to learn something new or different, but on the other hand they're bullying those who can speak more than one language. They just hate it, or is there a ambivalent reaction to it, like jealously? An inconvenient feeling that other people can do something they can't, a 'strange' feeling to something they would never openly commit to because ...out of shame? ...instead they're hiding it and attack those 'foreigners'. Their behaviour towards foreign languages is turning into xenophobia or even racism, their spectrum of hate is always wide and open, regarding to foreigners in their own country. But, as soon they leave their Island, they expect that the rest of the world should and need to bow down and speak 'their' language, wherever they go, they will not adapt or even refuse to accept to speak another language. I met many British in Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherland, etc., it's always the same behaviour. No attempt to adapt, anywhere. NONE or whatsoever, those poor little sods.
