Hi Dariush, this was my mom's favorite and beyond nostalgic for me. I wish I could still find a real vintage bottle that has not turned! Yes, we want instantaneous understanding of everything these days, no time for a story to reveal itself, page by page, layer by layer. As a green and floral perfume lover, I feel this industry is on a slippery slope. I am happy to have grown up in the 70's and 80's w/ exposure to olfactory masterpieces that cannot be repeated ever again!! ❤🙏

I was gifted a miniature bottle of L'Air du Temps EDT in the early 80's with the same shape as your bottle (except the box had a very late 70's/early 80's soft focus dreamy photograph of a woman in a straw hat on the front as I recall). I adored this fragrance then, and still now.

Old fashioned, nowadays, is a compliment in many realms. And then there is timeless (since you mentioned Après l'Ondée). Yes! L'Air du Temps is beautifully feminine.

I think the current formulation is stunning! I remember the original perfume from years ago… never loved it. To me, the current formulation, though, feels like a softer version of Mitsouko, with an irresistible ‘lightness of being’ vibe.

As a teenager in the 1970’s I adored L’Air du Temps. My older twin brothers bought me a bottle of the extrait for Christmas in 1973 or 74. I wore it on my wedding day and still cherish the bottle. Somewhere along the way in the early 80s I picked up a bottle that looks just like yours, so I think you can safely assume yours is early 80s at the latest. Thank you for bringing a huge smile to my face with this one. ❤ P.S. I still have both bottles and they are about half full. They still smell oh so wonderful.

Tried this for the first time today and it really was love @ first sniff. This & Coach Signature were my top 2 after sampling close to 20 scents. I'm finicky... Some of these classic fragrances knock newer scents out of orbit. Tell me about more of them please!!! I want all the aldyhedic, angelic masterpieces!!! 🥰

i wore l'air du temps religiously throughout the 80s (my college years, and beyond) and was routinely stopped by men on the street, just to tell me i smelled "wonderful". i first tried it out when visiting my aunt, as she displayed it prominently on a perfume tray on her bureau. i was hooked. what was intriguing to me was how well it worked on an older woman as well as a college student. the fragrance seemed timeless; allowing women of any age to wear it. i long for the original scent and have found nothing worth wearing since. there is simply no replacement.

Thank you for this! I've been wearing L'Air du Temps for decades. Have worn other perfumes over the years, but consistently the perfume that is my most complimented (by guys!) up to this day is the L'Air du Temps! At one point my mother told me it was her mother's favorite, which I did not know! So clearly, it wears well on us in the family. So I don't care that it's considered old-fashioned. Please do a review of the newest version - curious what you think! Now I have to find a vintage bottle just for the fun of going down memory lane....

I found a 1960s (I think) 30ml Parfum in a glass bottle with the single frosted glass dove. In a box tied in and fully sealed. Box is a bit rough but the contents look mint. I picked up in a charity auction for a couple of dollars. I loved it in the 90s and early 00s and it was superbly carnationy - stunning. I had so many older men ask what it was so they could buy it for their wives. Huge compliment getter. I still love it ❤

Once upon a time in the very early 80s I got on a packed tube and came face to face with a friend. She smelled gorgeous and I asked her which perfume she was wearing. Before she could answer, the man next to her said that he wanted to ask that too, then someone sitting a bit further on said yeah, what is it?? Was indeed L’air du Temps, ‘borrowed’ from her mum and could we not let her mum know. Had completely forgotten about that and I hope those two blokes on that tube train long ago bought some!

Ahhh, I have hoped you would review this gorgeous perfume, thank you so much! I was happy to "live with it" in the mid 70's and through the 80's, and "L'air du Temps" was always a huge success. Perfect for daywear and elegant and classy for evening wear. It had this really lovely airy quality which I think people found very pleasant and purely beautiful. Its 'none demanding' character seemed to make people feel really well being around you. ( this probably sounds strange, but I can't find better words) I also wish to mention Lanvin's "Arpege" from the late 70's. Very green (on me), yet soft and warm. I switched between "L'air du Temps" and "Arpege", and they both turned out so fantastic, so wonderful. Sadly 'Arpege' became reformulated & destroyd in the 80's.

I'm so upset I missed the live!! :( I still have one of my vintage Lalique design bottle from the 60's, (still smells beautiful) as well as a vintage gift set with EDT, perfume flacon and soap from the 80's. I loved the gift sets we always sold at the stores. And L'Air Du Temps soap was beautiful! It really is too bad that it's considered 'old'. It's too beautiful to allow that to keep people from wearing it! I wear it for me. I love walking around and smelling it on me throughout the day.

Exactly! That’s what’s fragrance should be about. Which one lifts you up for that day. :) But it’s too bad the current scent isn’t as beautiful as the vintage. And personally, I think it’s a shame to have a young person smell a fragrance, have them discover they love it, then have them believe they shouldn’t like it or wear it because it’s ‘old’. I’d much rather have them wear it, give their friends a chance to discover it, perhaps love it as much, and make it ‘youthful’ again. At first a friend might say “that smells ‘old’. But when told to just smell it for its fragrance is when thoughts can be changed. I was so sad I didn’t seem to get a notification about the show. :( Love them!

By the way I ended up returning Coco Chanel and buying Coco Noir- both real perfume bottle and eau de perfume- and also I bought for every day wear Chanel No 5 EDT 😊 I used to have this perfume from Nina Ricci you showed us because my ex late mother in law once bought it for me - but that era has long gone 😊 I wouldn’t wear it . But I would wear Shalimar- to a smoky jazz bar in Paris 😊

Ohhh, I had an EDT bottle in that same style, back in the late 70's/early 80's. Now I regret I didn't keep it. It had an amazing fluffy jasmine abstract floral note that would waft around me when it dried down. It was so beautiful. Thank you for reviewing this. I bought a reformulated one about 12+ years ago (slender/pedestal shaped bottle), it's ok, but not the same. Lately, I've noticed there's a new bottle shape, (shorter rounded, fluted bottle). I wonder if a great nose may have been involved in a new reformulation? Thanks for your fun videos.

Oh how nostalgic, this was my second love. My love of fragrance began with Muguet, which I received for my 7th birthday in 1979! I believe I was about 9 or 10 years young when I received L'Aire du Temps in my Easter basket 😊 And then, as it happens, once I was introduced to the world of Guerlain (specifically Shalimar) it was put aside. How I wish I had kept that bottle.

I called it! Yesterday, I found myself with some spare time, so I decided to rewatch a classic - The Silence of The Lambs! This reminded me of the classic in the world of perfumery which I've never smelled before. I said to our friend Dimitrije - we should really get ourselves some L 'Air du Temps - I had never really acknowledged it before for the same reason I'd never acknowledged Arpege - it came from a kind of so-so house (see newer perfumes by Ricci). However, encouraged by the fact that this is a lily, I shall get my hands on vintage Temps and forward some to Dimitrije. The inimitable perfume of lilies which sits precariously between opulent white floral and green-and-marine watercolour with salty, raspy, and even fleshy undertones which linger beautifully on the skin make it my favourite floral, second only to the intoxicating barnyard note of narcissus.

To me l'air du temps is a descendant of 1920s and 30s Caron perfumes like Fleurs de Rocaille with their powdery carnation notes.I own vintage Parfum and EdT versions and I enjoy them very much. Great fragrance and it's great that it is still in production.

When I first smelled Eris Parfums Delta of Venus, I immediately thought of stuff my mother wore back when. I know they wouldn't have had a guava note back then, but those perfumes are what came to mind. Anyway, the only perfumes I ever remembered my mother wearing were White Shoulders and L'Air du Temps. So I gave my sample of Delta of Venus to my mother to see if it rang any bells, and she just said, Nope. LOL. I thought this was interesting how 50+ years completely warped my scent memory but mother's was clear as if yesterday (true, she wore the stuff and I was just a child).

I usually stay away from vintage perfumes. A thought of loving something and not being able to get it again breaks my heart. But this can be said for any fragrances these days, I guess. So if I was to hunt for this one, should it be parfum, EDT, does it matter much here?
